Agree.......Graham was great in the last and Boekhorst worked himself into the game.

I thought Weitering finished the game very strongly, although despite his seemingly quiet first half he did spend a lot of time on the resting ruckman in Sinclair who hardly touched it....

Keen to hear your thoughts....

Good effort.
They have an A grade midfield and the best player in the comp up forward and we still hung in.
Bolton would have to be pretty pleased with that effort for 3.5 quarters.
Unfortunately our rucks got smashed for about twenty minutes in the third and the Sydney midfielders got an armchair ride that saw them jump clear.

The best thing about that game was the fact we didn't fold when they got a run on after half time.

Simpson got a ton of the footy but made some shocking errors and missed a few targets that cost us. Not putting the loss on him by any shades but I did rise to my feet a couple of times.

I wonder about Casboult. I think our forward line workeds better last week to be honest. He got lots of handballs but tow shots for goal fr 1-0 is just not good enough.
I thought Kreuzer's ruckwork whas as shite as usual but he did a lot better around the ground. Well done for that.
Gibbs played well.
Wright missed the same mark he missed last week by not attacking the footy. That's one goal and how Phillips didn't get that free for holding is just beyond belief. That's the second goal.

Never mind. That was a pretty good game of footy to watch on TV and we almost got there but we didn't go up the ladder at all. It's about draft picks and the odd win here and there.

Curnow30 was great early. I hope his knee is OK. Didn't look too bad after the game.
Jack had a quiet night but that's going to happen
Weitering played another good game
Boekhurst was just OK but he hasn't played for a long time so he will take time to get used to the pace of it again. He showed flashes of what he can do and will be better for the gallop.

Well done boys. Play like that for four whole quarters and we are getting somewhere.

Mossie has a point, I was watching the 1999 preliminary final and it struck me just how much of difference in talent we had then compared to now. We weren't even considered one of the better teams, either, we went in as massive underdogs.

Mossie isn't having a go at our effort, just the inevitability of it all.

Just keep building. We are developing a nice cohesive backline which is the springboard for all good sides.................when its all boiled down they were cleaner and neater with the ball and ran through the guts too easily for mine.Close the middle next week and we can take the Hawks.Time for this club to make a statement to the footy world with a big scalp.Everything on the line against the Hawks.

The Carlton Football Club......................Now Always Forever.

He loves playing against Rowe, who I thought did a solid job on him despi.ote the four goals. As I said, he ducked out the back and got three easy ones.

thank you

im sick of this crap - i despise john elliott, but he did hate losing - even in 1999, I was told by a person who spoke to him that he was filthy that we lost the 99 GF even though we were never in it all year

Gotta say that was ok.

We'd have won if we had a decent ruckman, decent key forward and another quality mid-fielder, and swapped out 5 spuds for another 5 B graders.

Always the same thing in so many matches we get close only to have the 19th man (umpires) ruin it for us.

The difference is that at Sydney Casbault would be a far better player. His defecencies have been obvious for years and we haven't been able to make any inroads. That comes down to culture and environment as much as anything. Hopefully we are changing this with Bolton and others at the club now.

Ed Curnow was excellent.
Gibbs and Cripps great around the ball.
Our backline is looking much better.
We shot ourselves in the foot a couple of times and they made us pay. Same as last week.
Was wrapped with our effort overall.
Cant wait for Muph to come back.
Hope Charlie is ok.
Bolton is still our best recruit!
