He was easily in the top half of performers on Sunday. Deserves a start next week against one of the best midfields in the comp.

Honest question from somebody who has never played DreamTeam stuff and doesn't understand how the DT points are calculated. Can a player have a poor game but still score high DT points?

3 points for a mark (took ten), and 4 points for a tackle (laid eight). His Supercoach score - which weights points on influence on game/contested possessions etc was much lower

Boekhurst has proven to be fully recovered and ready to play seniors after 2 weeks in the VFL.
We lack outside speed. Has speed to burn. He should have played on the MCG. We have missed his run.

Sumner has TC some fans because, let me get this right, he was selected as a top 10 draftee by GWS, didn't do a preseason for Carlton, chases hard. None of those reasons are good enough for me to continue to carry him. He's too small and doesn't have enough weapons, despite showing glimpses. Has not shown much in the last 5 weeks. Fumbled nearly everything that came his way against the WCE. He needs a preseason and then we will see what he has got. Not convinced he's long term.

I'm not fussed which of Graham/ Lamb/ Whiley takes a spot against Sydney because none are long terms prospects for Carlton, but Graham and Whiley have earned a spot in the seniors whilst Lamb seems to be doing a lot of pressure acts without the ball, but sadly not much with the ball against WCE, let alone against Adelaide.

I guess Casboult has something we need as a target, moreso than Kreuzer, so they may swap those 2, but we shouldn't play both. Philips is No 1 ruck, and is developing nicely. He's only 2 years younger than Kreuzer, and needs to improve his running and strength over the next 2 preseasons, but already seems to have passed Kreuzer.

Jaksch should keep his spot as he proved he may develop as a swingman with Weitering if needed. That's a weapon. Casboult couldn't be swung back, nor could Kreuzer. For versatility and good form, White's peoven to be a good utility whilst the kids develop.

Please let Walkers knee rest, Thomas wasn't missed and may be out of form, Everitt proved to be out of form on the weekend. Reward form players.

McKay, Cuningham should see some action in latter rounds...can't wait.

If i was going to drop a ruckman it certainly wouldn't be Phillips. Just rewatched the 2nd half of the weagles game and Kreuzer was useless in the ruck. He took over at the centre bounce after the last goal and put the ball straight into a weagles midfielders hands on their goal side of the contest.

Phillips out?
I thought he was very good. Who is going to ruck when Kruezer is resting?

There is no way that you could have Kreuzer ahead of Phillip on current form.

I love Kreuz, but right now he can't jump, can't mark, can't ruck and is a liability to the team.

Agree no way you can drop Phillips - best ruckman for us on sunday by a mile

He and Cripps need to work in particular at goal kicking - will be getting more than a few shots at goal going into the future so need to nail the important ones

Given the coaches comments post match I would suggest that the only change will be Casboult in and Weitering out injured.

Why would anyone entertain dropping Phillips after he's played probably his best game for the year.

Phillips hadn't missed many, if any before the Eagles game. Normally very accurate.

We will need a colostomy bag after this game for the new arsehole that Sydney will rip for us.

But nonetheless it will be a learning experience for the younger players in the team.

Because many people too quickly rated Phillips as a spud.

He is going to be good.

Seriously ?

Boekhurst an automatic inclusion......pace and penetrating kick .....we ain't got much of that at the minute !

Sumner must make way. The little guy was ok for about a month or so, but has been pretty average last few weeks. A full pre season may see him improve but a Blues team aiming for top 4 in coming years probably won't have him in it ?

In: Casboult, Boekhurst
Out: Sumner, Weitering (pls don't risk this great kid in a nothing game for the CFC)

Exactly.

Some posters obviously influenced by 'jimmae's' opinions on Philips and Kreuzer. Blinded. Bias. Unreasonable.

Some posters also influenced by 'jim' suggesting Kreuzer only plays well as the lone ruckman after 1 good game for the year against Pies.
Kreuzer also had a good second half against Geelong too, but its obvious to most Kreuzer's stats in every area, after 15 rounds is damning.
We don't have better options, that's all.

The future is Philips, and he should continue to be developed in the seniors, and until we find a better KPF target than Casboult, he should not be a 2nd ruckman.
I cannot wait to replace Casboult with a better KPF because he's a one trick pony, but there is no one else who can compete in the air and attract 2 or 3 defenders ala Fevola days. Whilst Casboult continues to do that he takes the focus off our developing kids Silvagni and Curnow.
