Considering how many goals we gave them, not a bad effort.

Phillips showing why they want to get games into him.

Cripps and Gibbs were fantastic in the second half after a poor start.

Silvagni is a very intelligent player with a great pair of hands.

Silly errors from the likes Sumner, Kerridge, Jaksch and White hurt at times.

Plenty of positives. C. Curnow will be a senior player for a long time. Phillips good around the ground.

Murphy missing is really hurting.

Given the terrible third quarter we had, I'm not too disappointed. @#$%&! we make some dumb mistakes.

Cripps needs to work on his set shots.

Silvagni stood up well in the last few minutes and good to see the young guys getting among it.

Skills. Horrible turnovers that lead directly to goals.

Soul destroying when we butcher the ball and can't execute the basics.

Leave Weitering forward with Casboult next week and let Jaksch get some confidence in defence, where he improved as the game went one.

Gibbs and Cripps were unbelievable in the second half (Gibbs 19 possessions in second half and Cripps 24!). They were raving about Priddis in the first half but he got a bath by the end of the game.

Charlie, Jack and JW all showed a bit. KJ took a while but I want to persist with him (will be better forward with Levi to take the big defender).

Both Kreuz and Phillips had their moments. Buckley was excellent early but maybe got tired later (lack of conditioning). Persist and leave him there.

Sumner and Lamb both had bad ones. Probably can't carry both of them as low possession getters. Might be time for one to go down for a week or two.

Simpson and Docherty were supreme down back. Lack of polish up forward cost us but can't fault the effort.

There's no mistaking it, he's a Silvagni.

Effort was fantastic and hasn't really dipped this year. Good to see the younger players doing their bit too.

Murph playing we could have beaten collingwood and won today

I found more positives out of that than negatives....call me a sugar coater all you like but we have some great exciting talent coming through. I thought Phillips was fantastic he is really attacking the contests well and his hands are improving week to week....he is also quick and his ground skills are great for a big man....already surpassed Hampson by miles and they are similar in height and athletic ability.

Thought Gibbs and Cripps had their best game for a month or so, Simpson and Docherty were great...Saw how much of a superstar Weitering was....18yrs old on 1 leg and still reading the ball and taking great contested marks. Charlie has the talent to be a star and Silvagni has beautiful hands and can certainly play!

I would love to see Harry come in later in the year and watch him, Charlie and Jack develop together because they are our future and it's obvious the talent is there to have something special for years to come.

It's a long road but I'm looking forward to it.

Spare a thought for us WA supporters. They'll think they can still win the flag.

i'm not a big fan of moving Weitering away from defence, would prefer to see that group bond a bit more, but I'd be happy enough to see it as Jaksch needs to build some confidence at this level and its easier for him to do it in defence and Weitering is getting a bit beaten up back there, might be good for him to play forward for the rest of the season.

Curnow could be anything as long as he has the application
Silvagni so smart. Watch how he blocks his man from spooling Weiterings second mark and goal
Kreuzer is a liability. Casboult is a better option.
Kerridge needs lots of reflex work. Fu..fu..fumbles
White, Phillips and Kerridge are too slow at releasing the ball
White kills us with skill errors. Is there a replacement?
I hope Jacksch makes it and needs to play seniors but apart from one spoil seemed a little lost today and is in his 4th season. I thought he was on McGovern.
Umps gifted WCE a few but didn't think we deserved to win

I've said it a hundred times...here's #101; Weitering kicked big bags of goals as a forward as a junior.

A fwd line of Weitering, SOS, McKay and Curnow makes me drool.
Just need a couple of good crumpets and we're set.

If we can get a Marchbank, to go with Doc, SImmo, Plow, Byrne, the backline is looking ok as well.

Pros:

Sustained effort and a slashing last quarter.
Rowe, Simmo and Docherty. These 3 have been fantastic this year.
Cripps work in the centre clearances.
Weitering up forward. SOJ. Nice glimpses from C. Curnow.
Phillips.
Gibbs ability to have an impact on the scoreboard.

Cons:

Horrible midfield turnovers that cost us the game.
I know it was a windy day, but for a seasoned AFL tall Kreuzer has an elite ability to completely miss the ball in marking contests.
Jaksch. Glad he got a go. Hope they give him a few more weeks. But his ability to be outmarked by his defender today was Kreuzer-like. And then he gave up that horrible turnover in the 3rd quarter in defence. Slightly redeemed himself in the last quarter. Can't imagine that kind of uncompetitiveness will be tolerated for long.
Lamb probably needs a run at VFL level to find some more ball.
