Plenty of heart, but cracks are starting to show.

Already conceded 12 scoring shots.

C. Curnow and Jaksch are our key forwards. They have about 15 games experience between them. Their opposition counterparts are Kennedy and Darling. Today was always going to be difficult.

Plenty of little positives in the first half. Rowe, Silvagni, Sumner and Buckley are all playing well. Simpson is just incredible.

We need someone to try to break the lines when we get stuck like that

Like Simpson who is the nly persson to run for the entire half and it ended with a Silvagni goal.
BUT
Why do they chip the ball around for thirty seconds to end the quarter instead of all out attack?
Their first instinct is to kick backwards.

Hopeless wherever he is

Poor bugger's our only key forward in a crap side and it takes someone less than 30 min to call him hopeless....lol.

I'd love the guy to do well, but he showed more at GWS than he ever has with us, for whatever reason. Seems to have done ok in the Magoos this year but just calling it as I see it. 3 disposals and no marks so far.....hope he we play him rest of year and he develops.

Midfield being smashed again. Hurried blind kicks forward mean Barrass, McGovern and Sheppard are having a picnic.

Gibbs pouncing around trying to execute the ultimate kick, all technique. Just play the flower percentages. So good early this year to terrible. Just a good midfielder not an A Grader, can never do it consistently week to week.

When he is on he's up there with the best of them but drops off so quick.

Midfield again letting us down again, Gibbs and Cripps have been terrible now for a few weeks.

Too much chipping it around the ground and slow football. Need to add a bit more run, dare and carry, a little more atacking flare when going forward.

Cripp still hasn't learned to play with a hard tag. He gets pounced upon as soon as he takes possession. It's up to the rucks to give it to someone else but they haven't got the skills.

We were are much better, higher scoring side when we played two key forwards. Spread the defence and opened up the 50. Even the two ruckmen played better and more easily snagged a mark or two up forward back then. Other's then were able to kick goals. One key forward makes it hard as the defence just closes in on him and closes up the 50. We won 6 from 7 when we had two key forwards.

16 points down and our first choice midfield (Cripps, Gibbs and Curnow) have 17 disposals between them. If we can improve our ball winning midfield work, we're still in the contest.

Not sure how you kick a winning score when your key forwards are playing everywhere but the f50.

The first instinct is to look back instead of forward doesn't help the forwards either.

Gibbs 7, Cripps 5 need to get in the game.

...I hope Simpson never retires

Don't think we're that far off it.

Much like the first half last week.

Hope don't fall away like we did against the crows.

Any forward will struggle when there are only 16 inside 50s in a half (vs 27).

The need for mids at draft and also trade table is massive. Need to have the 6-8 quality mids to rotate through.

Charlie Curnow so far off it at the moment. Just doesn't lead to the right spots when we stream forward. Hoping for a bigger second half from him.
