Certainly have! There aren't many ball winners in that team, but it's fantastic we are getting games into the younger players.

Will most likely be a belting due to midfield dominance, hopefully the youngsters can keep it close

If KJ plays forward he'll have essentially no mature body support: So folks cut him some slack if he doesn't win the game for us.

Wow the fuss that orange socks in support of a worthy cause has caused.

I am glad that orange socks is the only concern we have.

Stop wasting everyone's time discussing socks, and go read a dolly magazine.

Sorry, flower of a week, just a rant

So Charlie C is back in after glandular fever and limited game time last week?

Not expecting much but MC must have great faith in the lad!

My issue is we still have two ruckmen and just one key forward. Given our ruckmen are useless when not on the ball we are essentially playing with 17 most of the time as you can only play one of them on the ball at any one time. Jaksch will have Casboult's problem of being one out against the opposition defence. We been pumped each time we've had two rucks and just one key forward. This time it's a young player still developing and building strength.

Given fwd structure they'll spend plenty of time forward.

That's the problem, they're useless forward. It's like having just 17 men on the ground when they're not on the ball.

KJ main KF.

CC and SOS both secondary KF.

Get it.

Unpredictable and flexible forward line.

Hopefully and cryptically.

Totally agree...problen is WCE defence likes to play loose and cut off the incoming ball, so the pressure is on those delivering into the forward line....."Go Short young men, look low and go short"

My issue is that we don't have enough good players to win the game.

Shit. Poor effort from me there. Should have said something like my heart is in danger of breaking if he doesn't.

Yep. And now your watching your best intentions fading away every day

Its pointless complaining about 2 ruckmen. If Kruezer is our only ruck and he gets injured in the first quarter, what would be our options?
Rowe has become crucial to our defence so putting him in the ruck is pointless. Its not an ideal situation but we have no other options.

Surely we don't play an extra ruckman just in case the other one gets injured? It would be reasonable if they were both contributing, but both Kreuz and Phillips aren't doing enough up forward or around the ground to justify both of them getting a gig.

Its not just injury. The suggestion that one of our ruck men can ruck the whole game is ridiculous. I know some posters foolishly believe Kruezer competently has rucked a full 120 minutes at some stage of his life. Thats fanciful IMO.
By all means play Casboult as a relieving ruck when he is fit but who are your options tomorrow if Kruezer or Phillips are left out. Who will do that 6-8 minutes of ruck work each quarter when the ruckman is resting?

Rowe? Do you take your only mature tall defender away from defence at the time you'll be most susceptible to conceding centre clearances?
Our backline are our best asset at the moment. Rowe needs to stay there and perform his role as the senior tall.
The 2 ruck option isn't ideal but unless someone has a sensible alternative, its pointless bitching about the selection.

Phillips isnt setting the world on fire but he's showing promise IMO. We're not contenders this year. Surely the idea is to develop and improve our players so when we are a good side, these players will be developed and ready to go. Charlie Curnow hasn't earnt a game this week but the coaches are looking long term at the bigger picture. Some people here need to grasp that.
Phillips will be a player. He just needs game time.

We need to get games into Phillips. He's going to be OK. People here forget how ordinary Jacobs was.
Kreuzer is cooked but politics won't let him be dropped.

We're trapped in the mindset that Kreuzer is still untouchable.
