100 point loss coming up

plus

no talent
poor list

agree - 100 point loss in orange socks - just a double nail into the carlton coffin....

Not happy about us wearing orange socks in support of the fight against Family Violence, eh?

im not happy about wearing orange socks.

The social agenda train will kill football and carlton - as I have said its about the intention to make money with no assurances that money will flow - disguised as a social agenda

given that football by definition is brutal (and some say violent in its nature )- its inherently conflicted to the message that the orange socks purport to represent

we are the navy blues - but hey - im just a dumb member that buys a membership, has no opinion, blindly accepts our club's administration, conforms and is a consumer theatre goer :donk:

You were never a fan of sponsorship then MF?

the board have a duty to preserve our navy blue brand and find sponsorship opportunities that does not reduce that brand

the fact that they approved the orange socks says to me they are all not up to the job.

I have no drama with the wearing of orange socks since as this quote from Blueseum shows orange was our first distinguishing colour...

Quote:
Harry Chadwick was the club's first Captain, and therefore he has the distinction of being Carlton player No.1. *
He was the first in a long line of players to wear the club's colours, which in first year consisted solely of an orange cap.
In 1865 a blue band was added to the cap.
This was later changed in 1871 to a cap of dark blue.
A proposal in May 1866 to have the club colours altered to blue and white was temporarily shelved

if you statement is true, it still does not justify the trashing of our navy blue brand over 150 years

My point is: how is wearing our original colour, on socks, ONCE, to show support for battered women, "trashing our navy blue brand over 150 years"?

My point is: start making sense rather than saying stuff and then when you get called on it, play the man.

My point is: when the club finally, finally, FINALLY moves into the 21st Century, no need to still have a go at things that kinda don't matter anyway.

Collingwood fiercely defend their black and white - whereas our board are weak ....as they cannot find other sources of sponsorship that does not diminish our brand

mind you Pratt Industries and pwc are sponsors of this tax deductible fund raising venture masquerading as a social agenda

that is deceptive - the sponsorship on the jumper is a reluctant adoption by all clubs

collingwood would not wear orange socks - i suggest you give eddie a call and seek his opinion

Didn't the clubs original jumper have an orange yoke at the top?

They seem oddly proud of wearing rainbow socks at training a couple of years ago for a club who only allow other colours reluctantly.

that appears to be an after thought, not the reason for the club to adopt orange socks

And saying that wearing orange socks in a single match in support of an important cause is destroying 150 years of tradition isn't?

That's why they'll never win a flag, they've eschewed their tradition.
