This season could fall away badly I suspect

That's ok. We really need fo finish bottom 4. Season was more about...dare i say it....resetting, regaining some respect, playing kids and winning a few games. No point finishing 10th.

reserves arrangement is not ok

the club is spinning about a reset when the reserves arrangement is the same if not worse than the last 4 -5 years

at least one carlton board director was on the board of the ressies, not now

I meant season falling away. Agree about reserves though. Diabolical setup for any AFL club not to be stand alone.

In what way?

Our defensive effort was very good.

I'd say the bombing to packs of 6-8 players was very reminiscent of our worst in recent years. Some of our forward delivery was terrible.

Brown defeated Casboult quite comfortably and with only one marking tall and no smalls - Sumner had his quietest game for the year - I'd say our forward line was poor. Agree on the defence.

Will be interesting v Crows as to my memory White has done ok on Walker and Buckley on Betts, so perhaps they move back?

I am not sure where you were watching from but Sumner had a very good game. worked his butt off chasing, harassing and tackling. Was the only forward to consistently apply pressure. Our forward line was crap because of the delivery into it. It just emphaiszes our lack o depth. We are missing Murphy and do not have enough run. This won't change unless Everitt returns to last years form or at least one of Everitt, White and Kruezer/Philips are replaced with players who have speed.

Was simply a turnover game. They made plenty. We were worse.

6 possessions for the full game. Not doubting his pressure but he couldn't find it.

I agree. It's becoming an issue as the ball winning load is kept to a handful of players.

Lamb has started to build his possession tally, Sumner needs to do the same to take that next step.

Not making excuses, but Sumner has played 22 games of AFL footy. He has had injuries the last few years and had a highly interrupted pre-season. He has shown enough for mine but I wouldn't expect too much from him for the rest of the season. He'll have some good games and some not so good. Bit like the team really.

I only went to this game to watch Jack's debut.
His miss in the 1st was a big letdown.
The pass to Gibbs after marking 10m out was one of the worst things I've seen on a footy field. If Gibbs called for that, he should be fined.
The thrill from watching Jack kick his first goal would have made that miserable game worthwhile.

Oh goodie, it's that time of year again when Gibbs is useless and should be discarded. Wake me when it's that time of year when Gibbs is one of our few genuine class players and should be given a contract extension.

you have bruce doull as your picture ...bruce doull would never put in a bad game against colingwood

gibbs is a number 1 pick - our club made a mistake and pumped his tyres up too soon - like Kruezer - he has never been dropped to the reserves - he, that is Gibbs , should as a number 1 pick must be leading the charge and tearing up games at this stage of his career - when Betts leaves for a mere $50,000 and Gibbs is an untouchable something is very wrong

I think you are caught up in what number he was picked at in the draft Mozzie. It was 10 years ago. You have to get over it and look to the future.

Gibbs is a fine player who got done by a tagger. Not the first. Won't be the last.

With all due respect MF, that is complete and utter bollocks - Gibbs has had a fine season, easily one of our best 5. Calling for him to be dropped is just reactionary bullshit.

And for crying out loud, you ARE caught up with his draft position, you just said a few posts ago that as #1 he should be leading the charge and tearing up games! Anyone would think from your post that being #1 guarantees success, despite the many #1 picks who haven't come near Gibbs's level.

In conclusion, give yourself an uppercut.

ok. fair point

Gibbs has played 4 very good games this year- he will fit perfectly into a good side and he is valuable to other clubs

How does he compare to Judd Pick 4, Reiwoldt Pick 1, Selwood Pick 7 or so, Hodge pick 4?

Gibbs will be a perfect trade for a top 4 club - he gets a premiership - we get a 1st round pick

Pretty simple
