I think Murphy's injury has highlighted 1 of our biggest weaknesses, clearnance / inside mids.
Right now - stop Cripps and you stop Carlton.

Predictably, they burnt us with their pace.

Yes to a point but it is the lack of any forward structure and half decent targets that are killing us more ..Every entry is a bomb and every exit is a waltz down the middle .
Our forwards are poor both ways

This will change dramatically with the introduction of Harry Charlie & Jack over the next 12 months

maybe a little but you are still going to need quality ball going in there. at the minute it looks like we often bomb or scramble kicks forward because we don't have enough quality in the middle.
it's one clean crisp possession followed by a fumble and a rushed kick much of the time. stands out just a little more when you're up against ward, griffen, shiel, coniglio, scully, whitfield, kelly, greene etc

Yep our 2nd biggest deficiency - KP forwards. Need to bring in Jaksch. The guy needs to be given a chance up there like so many others have been. It's not as if he isn't kicking goals in the VFL! Give him a month!

Our forward line has future prospects, we have no young midfielders ex cripps coming through. Inside 50s were below 40 yesterday?. Doesnt augur well for curnow, mckay and silvagni's development

spotless has been a fortress this year. they've smashed just about everyone they've played including, hawks, swans, cats and port. with that in mind, we were still pretty bad. there's no way known phillips, kruezer and casboult can all be in the same team.

right now, i'd give kruezer another week off just to keep running laps of icon. he'd been really bad 2 weeks on the bounce now.

Same as against the Saints for mine.Got killed in the guts. And if it keeps going it will kill Cripps cos he cant do it on his own.Its getting to the stage it is inhumane and bordering on cruelty.Bring in Graham and Whiley.Say what you like, they are true midfielders and will at least assist Cripps unlike Sumner and Lamb who have both dropped off..............time to give this Viojo-Rainbow kid a go to see if he can cut it in the bigtime.Sorry to rain on everyones parade but he is worthy of a callup before Silvagni at this stage.

Weird, considering that last week was a bye

spotless is a fortress because GWS have the best list in the AFL

I totally agree. Not sure why he's on the outer, but FFS, can we just get to see a 4-6 week block of play out of him at seniors level

I'm certain that the reasons are valid, bu I'm also sure players both in the past and currently are getting games when they shouldn't for other 'valid' reasons

Sometimes you have to apply the READY, FIRE, AIM philosophy.
Same goes with DVR. Surely we should not die wondering. Some players just thrive at AFL level, others who we expect to be ready are paralysed

Please...give both Jacksh and DVR a go at AFL level

Out: Tutt, Kruezer, Everitt
In: DVR, Buckley, Jacksh

We really need Buckley and Borkhorst to be the players we hope they would be. You can see when armfield is in that side, his pace suits our style. The side is too slow and one paced

Stayed in the game for 3 qtrs although guess mostly because of their bad kicking for goal.
Thought effort was better then that against the Saints.
Walks did ok. So did Gibbs, Plow, Rowe, Weiters and Cripps
Levi will never be what we desperately wish he would be.
Another average game by Kreuz. Reckon injury has ruined him.
Need to inject more youth into the team. No use always going back to the well with players like Tutt.
Hated that we kept fading away late in terms, and capitulated in the last.
Expected this so not disappointed. SOJ needs to come in next week. Only way we'll get a decent crowd on Saturday night against the Filth.

Youth will be good when fit, SOS would be close. I would like to see DVR get a shot at it.

Just dropping in to provide a monthly reminder that the age gap between Kreuzer and Phillips is 2 years and 7 weeks.

One of them went toe-to-toe with Mumfield, the other sharked a few centre bounce hitouts and spent a third of the game on the bench.

The love in for our coach is justified but we still should ask questions.

Tutt- why? Total failure of a selection

Jackson- he was an investment, and has has been performing well in the reserves. Why has he not been given an opportunity?

We should also see some more blooding of younger players before the year is out.
