i can't remember too many times in the last decade where we were expected to win well, and we did.

saint's will be much tougher next week, esp without murphy. Murph really does the heavy lifting & compliments Gibbs game really well. Gibbs has always looked lost when murphy isn't going and getting it.

Except for last week

Melbourne didn't get a PP because of 2 instances:
1. Spud Frawley was leaving and getting serious compensation for it
2. They were unofficially proven to be found tanking for draft picks only a year or two before. Was a terrible look for the AFL and I'd bet every club were in their ear to ensure it didn't happen

If next year is as bad as I think it will be (same or worse than this year) then it will be a lock. Doesn't mean it will be pre first round, could be end of first round.

That's why I'm a bit on the fence about the future pick, the AFL may see that as being some form of compensation in itself and dilute a PP further or not think about it at all

If we have a relatively injury-free year next year we will finish tenth.

Don't mind giving Robbo a bit of stick considering him stuffing up at Carlton and how he gave it to us last year.. Bell on the other hand I'll always have a soft spot for..

Me too ... tried hard till the very end unlike some others no longer at the club. Disappointed by the booing of him yesterday ... ignorant of the reason he wanted to go home l'm guessing by those that did.

I gotta agree. And they will turn it around quickly too I reckon.

Special mentions to Plowman and Kerridge. They both keep plugging away, getting better each game but not quite nailing it. Simmo and Curnow went through similar phases (and White, who seems to have finally arrived). The sure handling of your Gibbs types will come to them under Bolton's system. Hope that makes sense. Might be time to put the scotch away.

Go Blues etc.

I really like Simon White in our team.

Was nice to see Jed Lamb absolutely giving it to Robbo in the last quarter also after the Levi incident. Robbo went at him but ended up moving on red faced. Would love to know what Lamb was saying. Pretty good on the yap from what I hear. Lol

I wondered whether that was the reason he never gets any free kicks. He must be a mouthy little fella. It's a good thing, we need a pest down there.

That was a shocking decision.
They paid one before, then they ignored the Casboult one and then wonder why he drops Robbo. The poor players don't know what's going on half the time. no wonder they get frustrated.

The thing I love is that he's backing it up with effort and performance.

Yeah, it was bad loss.
But we can only move forward and hope a win is just around the corner.

Leppa has to go.
Their game style is Mick like. With their skinny forwards, giving the opposition time to get back isn't a winning approach.
I used to admire Rockcliff but the guy clearly had himself captain in his Supercoach team. He was demanding passes in positions that were significantly worse off.

Yep, it's grand to see. We've been too soft for too long, used to hate seeing our meek players being pushed around. Loving seeing some players there with mongrel in 'em, others follow too.
