It could happen!

List of unsigned players here: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-06-01/unsigned-blues-face-nervous-wait-on-futures?camefrom=EMCL_1122491_43056468

My thoughts at this stage:

Dennis Armfield, free agent, aged 29 - One year (depending on other signings)
Blaine Boekhorst, 22 - Two years or Trade Bait
Dylan Buckley, 23 - Trade bait, otherwise one year
Levi Casboult, 26 - Two years (if we can afford it)
Matthew Dick, 21 - Trade or de-list.
Andrejs Everitt, 27 - Trade bait (otherwise one year, depending on form)
Jayden Foster, turns 21 on Wednesday - One year or rookie
Andrew Gallucci, rookie, 22 - Don't know
Billy Gowers, rookie, 19 - Don't know
Nick Graham, 21 - Two years (assuming $ are reasonable)
Sam Rowe, 28 - One to two years (depending on form)
Ciaran Sheehan, rookie, 25 - Don't know.
Kade Simpson, free agent, 32 - Depends on him. One year seems fair.
Clem Smith, 20 - Rookie /one year / de-list
Zac Tuohy, 26 - Two years, or Three years (if the deal is right)
Jason Tutt, 25 - De-list
Dillon Viojo-Rainbow, 20 - one year?
Mark Whiley, 23 - Trade bait?? On year??
Cameron Wood, rookie, 29 - De-list.
Matthew Wright, 26 - Two years

A quote from the Carlton website from an article on how we came to draft Clem Smith (not the subject of the quote)...

"The Blues had prioritised midfield runners after trading for Kristian Jaksch and Liam Jones, and their list was ordered accordingly, pushing players such as Paddy McCartin, Peter Wright and some of the other taller prospects down into the teens. The club would have chosen only Angus Brayshaw, Liam Duggan and Christian Petracca ahead of Boekhorst at pick 17, with Caleb Marchbank, Jayden Laverde, Jordan De Goey and Dillon Viojo-Rainbow next on their list. They wanted pace, they needed it..."

http://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/2015-08-27/clem-featured-in-the-draftees

I don't know how true it is but if it is, it just shows you how much of a rabble we were and I hope we've truly dispensed with such crap. :screwy:

If Kreuzer retired then yes.

Would stick with improving Phillips and Gorringe as they're still both young ruckmen who have some ability.

I think you could safely back in long term contracts to the following...

Silvagni
Gibbs
Murphy
Byrne
Cripps
McKay
Docherty
Sumner
Plowman
Weitering
Cuningham
ECurnow
CCurnow
Phillips
Tuohy

Tutt, Whiley, Dick, Foster, Smith are the players I would delist, in that order.
If further list spots are required I'd look at Buckley, Armfield & Viojo-Rainbow next.

Depending on what we'd get back; Everitt, Rowe, Casboult, Graham, Buckley, White, Walker, Jones & Tuohy could be traded. Some of those would be unlikely to attract an offer though.

I suspect Jamison will retire.

Gowers, Wood, Galucci & Sheehan can be delisted.

I think Sheehan is worth giving another year, hopefully he has a full compliment of games for the rest of the season so we can make proper judgment.

We'd have to elevate him to do that.

Armfield? Have you missed the last two weeks?

I've seen them. Been very impressed too. But we are in the middle of a rebuild and at some point 30 year olds need to get turned over for younger talent. There are enough player in front of him on my list that I think Armfield could be safe for another year, but his time is limited.

I'm with you, just pointing out we'd want him to be senior capable given what we're doing with the list.
