I must be too old
Soda, like missing an absolute pud (pudding) is something you should just drink up, eat up etc
ie easy missed shots - Schache might be a gun in a few years, but missed 1 very easy shot and 1 a forward should kick at least 8 out of 10 times
Brisbane had a lot of set shots early from 30-40 out and missed them all
We didn't look like touching the ball at that stage, so what came after that was a relief

Back 6 are up there with the best now. Unreal. Weitering is a FREAK. The new SOS but a tidier player. Byrne is a joy to watch.....9 games only ! Docherty has to be AA. Thouy enjoying his footy and Simmo superb.

Good signs from Gorringe too. He is an athlete and should keep getting better.

And how good has Ed been this year ? Relishing being able to hunt the footy but has lifted in all aspects of his game. In fact the whole list has improved. Hats off to Bolts and staff :donk:

Docherty stunk it up today,
Gibbs really was unsighted and Kruezer no appearance after half time, yet we still found a way.

Bit harsh Agro. A couple of missed kicks he normally nails but otherwise rock solid.

Regards Cazzesman

Forgive Agro he's not used to only finding one person to slag off, so Doc gets all his saved up bile.

I think all the change club boys played well below par today - but Docherty did take a few well timed marks - his short pass to a nest of Brisbane players close to 3/4 time was bewildering to say the least.

Hardly bile though

Didn't spoil. Losing Rowe down there didn't help
Plowman needs to lift. The saints high marking forward line worries me.
The loss of Murphy exposed us today.
Casboult needs to offer more.

how many intercepts did Wietering grab?

I was at the game and noticeable he just positions himself where he can have a jump at it and back himself in
He is a gun kick, fast, low and accurate

Great running effort from Kerridge even if he did cough it up on a few occasions. Gorringe took some nice contested marks.

Lost the clearances and contested possessions by a decent margin; fortunate Brisbane coughed it up so much.

Pros:

Very much a win for system. Nice to be ahead of much of the competition in terms of playing style rather than behind (like we've been for the last 15 years). First game I've been to this year. Even more obvious when you're at the ground.
Defended very well in the first half. Thought our ball movement into the forward line was pretty good.
Weitering.
Our defensive rebounders: Docherty, Byrne, Tuohy.
Armfield.
Cripps.
Lamb's finishing.
Gorringe. Has looked far more comfortable and competitive in the packs the last 2 weeks. Also thought he was our most dangerous tall forward today.

Cons:

Got smashed out of the centre.
Injuries.
Sad to see how Walker has lost his zip. Although I loved his bump on the cheating squib, Christensen.

Good win but a very scrappy game.
We had so many players down yet still managed to win by 38 points.
Great game by Weitering, Kerridge played his best game and Curnow did a great job on Rich.

I thought our tackling pressure was pretty good in the first half as well. We seem to win a lot of our frees from holding the ball decisions.

I'm a Carlton supporter. I expected the win.

But, nothing too high and nothing too low with my feelings.

Pros and Cons later on in the week. Right now, enjoy the expectation.

You've really adopted the new CFC mantra bondi

Since Bolton entrenched himself after the Fremantle win, away.

Better than Prozac. Blueszac.

Tuohy?

Pros
Many players down & skills were a bit shoddy but still managed to win relatively comfortably off a six day break.
Curnow, Weitering & Kerridge our best today
Healthy 30k crowd

Cons
Umpiring - missed some straight forward ones.
Again lowered our colours at the centre clearances

Happy with the win. I'll take that after 6 days and after being at Etihad for 3 or 4 straight.
Plenty of improvement, specially centre breaks.
Lamb and Armfield where good as small forwards today, Gorringe growing but we need another KP ... Jaksch anyone??? I kno who I would replace.
Our zone d is top class and we are running back to support and counter attack beautifully. Love it!

Proud blue bagger !!

Yup, this. All the starring players from last week couldn't quite back it up this week, save for Armfield and Simpson, but they went when it was their turn. Great to see others step up in their stead, but even that effort mostly faded in the final term.

I maintain that we're a shade too tall and it's probably costing us another 5 minutes of good footy in the game due to a choppier midfield performance, not to mention some sort of edge at the clearances. We'd been using Sumner and Murphy to add some zip there, and we didn't really address that with the changes. I hope that's looked at against a hard-running St Kilda.

Also good to see Graham and Lamb work cohesively in the same team, but away from that Graham's performance wasn't that convincing. Everyone's in decent form, but we've got structural issues that need to be addressed, assuming everybody comes up ok.

Look forward to tomorrow's game to see someone put their hand up so we can address the clearance deficit and give Walker more competition for a spot.

Not his best. Probably ok in the first half. Faded in the second half. But thats my point, you dont rave on about a player (Everett) who we need just because he has a quiet game here and there. Gibbs, Casboult and Plowman had a quiet day, but we put them in the gun.

Ha! I was wondering if anybody noticed "The Phantom" out there...

I wonder if he ever feels guilty watching his team mates bash and crash - at least he has a great view of the match

Now that that the Cats just rolled GWS, last week's win looks even better if that's possible.
