Would like to see us really smack this mob give them an almighty hiding. It would be icing on the cake after last week's win.
I will settle for just a win but it would really rattle those at the bottom part of the 8 if we posted a big win.
As it stands at the moment unless Bombers Freo GC and Brisbane start winning a few more games and causing the odd upset you will need at least 13 if not 14 wins to make the 8.
We haven't a hope in hell of that.
However we smack this mob this week and beat the Saints convincingly a few sides competing for the 8 might start looking over their shoulders and drop the odd game to the cellar dwellers making 12 wins the mark which we might achieve.
But we can still only be thankful for small mercys at this stage
Win and win well Blues

Without injuries, Jaksch for Gorrringe as Casboult will be good to ruck next week.

Of course injuries might add a couple more changes. Can Murphy wear his helmet on his ankle?

Why would you drop Gorringe, from my view of the game he pulled his weight, why wouldn't you give him a decent run in the seniors and allow him a chance to settle in

Sometimes letting one game color everything is how you get beaten the next week. While believing you usually should reward effort Gorringe's been crappy in the VFL, pretty damn poor against North and although he did pretty well against Geelong he's not that good. We are better balanced with a Kreuzer rucking most of the day, where he is at his best, Casboult both forward and 2nd ruck, also where he is at his best, and playing a proper key forward. Getting the balance right is much more important. Jaksch continues to perform well each week in the NB's and would prefer him in to Gorringe, who's likely to struggle more often than not. Jaksch has been way better than Gorringe every week in the NB's. Gorringe was brought in out of necessity. Will give him credit for his effort last week though.

Gorringe only stays in if Levi's leg isn't ready to ruck, at least IMO.

We won't need Graham to if Buckley comes in as well.

Tutt's had no choice other than to win the footy inside at times, and his cheeky outside goals that he'd never get at AFL level have been something we traded for him to try and bring in. That said, there was one goal out of his three from the last game that did impress.

But as for Fraser's comments, you can only read so much into it because it's very obvious he's sugar coating. Some of his comments are a bit odd, where he's talking about player performances in terms of sample size and statistical consistency, almost like he's been sat down by SOS and had his eyes glued to a few spreadsheets until players start nailing some positional requirements.

Anyway, on the Brissy side of things (and following on from Effes earlier comments), you've got Jansen, Green, Dawson, Hipwood, Claye Beams and Rockliff as selection chances this week.

Buckley still suspended I think.

I think all kindergarten teachers should be in guard as well!

Maybe we should just target Mathieson this week.

Yep, right replacement.

Target neither one, it's not a school yard. Fighting fire with fire just means one day you will get badly burned.

VFL only this week it seems; already served a 2-game suspension in AFL terms.

In: Buckley, Byrne, Graham, Tutt
Out: Armfield (inj), Murphy (inj), Sumner (inj), Weitering (inj)

Weitering looks to me like he needs a rest. I would roll the dice and play the extra running player.

B: Tuohy Rowe White
HB: Simmo Plowman Docherty
C: Thomas Cripps E Curnow
HF: Buckley Casboult Kerridge
F: Wright Everitt Walker

R: Kreuzer Gibbs Graham

Inter: Byrne, Gorringe, Lamb, Tutt

You're right, it isn't a school yard. Hence why it's perfectly OK to target somebody.

I meant verbally. If blokes want to stick the tackle and dump them into the turf, fine by me.

Graham in for murph for mine. Form warrants selection. Byrne for Sumner
I think Army will be right (just a hunch). If he's out, Buckley in for him

Tutt or Graham. Still not sold on Buckley. But certainly not DVR, Cunningham or Smith. That would be just dumb. Have done SWFA

On form Tutt deserves a place ahead of any of those (maybe with the exception of Graham), but I'd like to see us blooding more of our young players as the season progresses. DVR in particular has shown real improvement this year and I wouldn't mind seeing him in 4-5 games before the season is done.

Hope he does come up, and.... with a spring in his step. Hate for him to fall over again.

On form Tutt runs around a lot and doesn't add much.

Reminds me of my favourite sign.

There was a disposals store in Ringwood with a sign on Maroondah Highway back in the 80s.

"Now is the winter of our discount tents!"

What about that Chinese Restaurant on the Nepean Highway (Chelsea I think):

"Foo King"
