At the club after match function, Andy Lee was asking Curnow I think about Hendo. Andy said that Hendo is a friend of his and he rang him before the game to boo him and asked Curnow whether the boys said anything to him. Curnow played a straight bat initially, saying that he's had a good season and blah blah, but ended by saying that "we don't need him here anyway".

I think it shows he didn't leave on the best of terms.

think this needs to be re-posted, it has been buried under other discussions.

really pleasing to hear what curnow said, thanks for posting it buzz

Most satisfying win in 15 years.

Coming off a thumping last week, 2 men down, playing the flag favourites coming off a loss, 2 big men playing after missing just 1 week with serious injuries and yet we endured everything they threw at us.

But what pleased the most, just like the Port game, is the aggression at the man and the ball is a geniuine want to impact the contest and just contrived huff and puff that might last a quarter. It's becoming a brand, a non-negotiable. Playing football "the Carlton way".

During the period of 2008 - 2013, we were known as a team hat had individual brilliance, but we're brittle and weak of mind. If you didn't allow us to play the way we wanted then we were beaten. Now we dictate terms.

How many times did flowers like Ballantyne, Monfries, Davey etc suck us into giving away stupid frees, and in turn change the momentum of the game. How often would we get scored against by allowing free players in the corridor, red time goals, no clue how to defend kickouts, no clue how to work the ball out of D50, no flying the flag when our players were targetted etc etc.

No more.

Watching us target Motlop physically and mentally, and getting to him to a point where his game suffered would have never happened previously.

It then flowed through the whole Geelong outfit, those constant fumbles in the 3rd quarter weren't a coincidence.

We've all been teased by false dawns before, but if you're not on board yet, do it now, because this is more than just talk. Theres a long way to go, but for once all the talk is being backed up with actions......

Excellent post. Couldn't agree more.

No doubt there'll be downs and more roadblocks. However hard not to think there is a really solid foundation being built for sustained success.

So great to be back fully engaged with the entire club. No longer the league laughingstock, easy beats and pushovers.

Proud.

Am loving the fact we stand up for each other. No one snipes us anymore. Any niggle is met with as much if not more. You can feel their commitment to each other.

Tackling was ferocious. Simon White's best game for the club. Bryce Gibbs all class.

I've mentioned before.....

my eldest niece is 24 and has two beautiful
little children...Tommy 3...and little Alexia
who turned 1 last week...!

Talia and her Maltese boy Shane...(who the Chief
calls Shine)... have been together for around 7 years...
and together have built a gorgeous little family...!

Shine is a Lancefield boy...so it was no surprise when
they bought a lovely parcel of land up in Bacchus
Marsh...!

there's the 22 foot 175hp fishing machine in the
garage...because he's Maltese and likes to fish...
but mainly because he's Maltese I'd say...!

I'm so proud of them...hard arse working kids...!

three weeks ago we got the invitation to Alexia's
1st birthday party...always a fun time...20 kids
under the age of 5...enough toys for 50 kids...!

but some how all 50 wanting the same three toys
at once...!

oh...did i mention the party was today...?

did i mention it started at 12.30pm...?

oh and ummmm...Shine's a Geelong supporter...!

yup...fairly intense Geelong supporter...!

so there we were...1308 hours...and his phone
starts beeping..."RIGHTO...FOOTY'S ON" he yelled...!

at this stage i didn't want to make a fuss...but as it
turns out...the Marsh had a nice bitter breeze
whipping it's way over the hills...!

and to my delight...Shine insisted i go inside and
watch the game..."yeah mate go in...I'm recording
it anyway I'll watch it later...it's bloody freezing
out her"...!

"aww thanks buddy...i wasn't sure about the birthday
protocol you know" i replied...!

so i make my way to the tv room...got told to sit in
the reclining theatre chair with the cup holder...
and had the 165cm LG UHD turned on for me...!

yup...the COCK SUCKER...!

if i didn't know any better...pretty sure UHD stands
for Ultea Hard Dick...(sorry ladies...no more blue
work in this post..............just Blues work)...!

so I'm sitting back and take a little look around...
gee this is all working out a bit good i thought...
i couldn't have organised this better with a spread
sheet and 2B grey lead...!

all a bit too good to be true i kinda thought...but with
an underlying sense of..."DON'T tell me...ya THINK...
could this be the perfect round...I'm sitting Even
after 9 holes...if i don't think about it too much...i may
be able to bring home a great score"...!

little did i know i was going to birdie the last three
holes...!

i truly thought we were home when it came time
to cut the cake...............half time...!

i got some cake... a Nutella donut...coffee...
and adjourned to the viewing area...!

now I'm going to cut a long story short here...
it's late i think...but by golly it was a lovely
day...!

i thanked Shine especially...he made my day
so very much more pleasurable...although i can't
help but think i made his day a tad worse...!

kindest regards tommi

do people still use spread sheets....?

Glad you had a great day tommi - the footy gods smiled...or was it just karma? You deserved that one buddy!

I don't think any of us had a 'bad day' yesterday, but think of me in a far-off land and in another time zone.

The local pub that plays AFL wasn't playing AFL on a @#$%&! Saturday noight, so I had the option of listening to Maher on SEN or the ABC, FFS. The call is about 20 seconds behind the score updates on AFL.com so I'm seeing the Cats just kicked a goal when I'm hearing the ball's on our HFF  .

And you realise what a bogan Maher is when you've been isolated from bogans for months then hear one call a game of footy :garthp: .

That's some serious ABC hatred to choose Andy Maher...

Nothing better than having your cake ... and eating it, Tommi!
Dunno about that Nutella doughnut though - especially during Indigenous Roud, eh Jim????
:?
Think we will all 'catch up' with a few Cats fans this week.
They were winning the flag two weeks ago.

More talented teams switched on will still beat us, but this year we will not "lose" many games. Love the spirit of this team. The chasing, the smothers, the cover for each other. Bolts has united this whole team for the first time since 2000.

It will be great to see the compliments get stuck in David King's throat, it's going to taste like vinegar for him.

Just on the smothers, anyone else notice that when we smother it the commentators call it as Geelong kicking into the man on the mark? Wouldn't want to credit us too much

Maybe if the original and the best Robbo (Ian Roberston) was commentating.

That was just Sandy being Sandy I thought.

Not sure if this has been mentioned...

Imagine being one of these guys with potential that are either injured or playing in the twos.

The impact wins like this should have on them will be enormous.

McKay, Curnow, Jaksch, Gowers, etcetera should be busting a decent nut for a crack at being part of that action.

Get on board boys, if you're good enough.

Form in the seniors should build depth in the twos on desire alone.

The reported attitude toward rehab by Kreuzer and Casboult typifies this desire.

Absolutely!!!
