At the club after match function, Andy Lee was asking Curnow I think about Hendo. Andy said that Hendo is a friend of his and he rang him before the game to boo him and asked Curnow whether the boys said anything to him. Curnow played a straight bat initially, saying that he's had a good season and blah blah, but ended by saying that "we don't need him here anyway".

I think it shows he didn't leave on the best of terms.

Who says I'm not happy?

I'm not the angry mob launching a full scale invasion on one guy's opinion. :P

I thought that was a bit rough considering it's indigenous round...

Yeah, and he wants White dropped. Something tells me the man has a guilt complex. Anything you want to get off your chest, James?

:P

I've explained my position, I just felt it was a tad heartless. We had blokes out there who reckon blackface is fair game for Halloween costumes so it additionally seems stupid to open that door so carelessly just for a meagre performance advantage.

Pot. Kettle.

I'll take his efforts over 2/3rds of yours, which I've otherwise barely seen scratched on a toilet door since high school, let alone for the general public.

Did you go on your own or did you have to be accompanied by the hall monitor?

x 1000, absolutely ludicrous.

Might have been our best win since 99, because the platform feels the most solid since then.

Effort is non negotiable in this group. Just look at Daisy late in the last.

You know what you're doing. When you write a clearly unpopular opinion the mob will come and they'll offer their feedback. It's exactly the reaction you appear to be seeking.

I believe in what I wrote, and I'm seeking nothing more than an actual, thought-out response.

Full-scale sledging (i.e. painting a target on someone's back, no matter the content) is poor form IMO, and it was an awful time and place to pick Motlop out. I'm happy to take it off to another thread in TalkingSport if people want to talk about it more.

Giving preferential treatment to an indigenous player because it's indigenous round is farcical. Playing aggressively against a player known to struggle against such pressure is a legitimate tactic.

Jimmae's comments are so stupid that I don't think we need to give any further oxygen to them, to be honest.

The very post you're quoting says I feel it's all shit form, and doing it on a day where he felt he could hold his head a little higher is just piling on the steaming heap of shit that is premeditated sledging.

People like to bang on about the importance of mental health issues, but lordy me do they like to reign hell down on people when they see red or draw battle lines for the sake of a 'sporting' contest.

Smashing people's heads into a behind post and shrugging the tackler's arm high are legitimate tactics too, I don't see us doing that (or at least not yet).

We've defeated the Ryan Crowley's of this world by becoming like them.

I thought smashing people's heads was reportable, therefore not legitimate.

Not sure if this has been mentioned...

Imagine being one of these guys with potential that are either injured or playing in the twos.

The impact wins like this should have on them will be enormous.

McKay, Curnow, Jaksch, Gowers, etcetera should be busting a decent nut for a crack at being part of that action.

Get on board boys, if you're good enough.

Form in the seniors should build depth in the twos on desire alone.

The reported attitude toward rehab by Kreuzer and Casboult typifies this desire.

Made the trip down and it was well worth it. I like this Carlton where every player gives absolutely everything, a stark contrast to the last couple of seasons.

What I am loving in this resurgence is the heart and passion returning to the club. I love knowing that each week the boys will turn up to give it their all for our club. Pride in the jumper, our history, our triumphs, our future. And they all want to be part of it.

I am so grateful that Bolts decided to take on this team of "misfits" and turn them around to the point that I can only imagine that come trade time there will be players lining up to join us and become part of Navy Blue history and the rebirth of the Blues as a force in the AFL.
