Just highlights the fact - it's not about draft picks, it's about structures, mental application, belief and then culture!!!
Well done baggers - it seems the Navy Blue might be back @ Princes Park again.

Tackling, chasing, harassing, smothering were all top notch today.

So much less unforced errors & sloppy disposal than a few weeks ago against Essendon*.

GREAT win.

GIBBS.

Most satisfying win in 15 years.

Coming off a thumping last week, 2 men down, playing the flag favourites coming off a loss, 2 big men playing after missing just 1 week with serious injuries and yet we endured everything they threw at us.

But what pleased the most, just like the Port game, is the aggression at the man and the ball is a geniuine want to impact the contest and just contrived huff and puff that might last a quarter. It's becoming a brand, a non-negotiable. Playing football "the Carlton way".

During the period of 2008 - 2013, we were known as a team hat had individual brilliance, but we're brittle and weak of mind. If you didn't allow us to play the way we wanted then we were beaten. Now we dictate terms.

How many times did flowers like Ballantyne, Monfries, Davey etc suck us into giving away stupid frees, and in turn change the momentum of the game. How often would we get scored against by allowing free players in the corridor, red time goals, no clue how to defend kickouts, no clue how to work the ball out of D50, no flying the flag when our players were targetted etc etc.

No more.

Watching us target Motlop physically and mentally, and getting to him to a point where his game suffered would have never happened previously.

It then flowed through the whole Geelong outfit, those constant fumbles in the 3rd quarter weren't a coincidence.

We've all been teased by false dawns before, but if you're not on board yet, do it now, because this is more than just talk. Theres a long way to go, but for once all the talk is being backed up with actions......

I thought that was a bit rough considering it's indigenous round...

Can't be serious

Yeah, and he wants White dropped. Something tells me the man has a guilt complex. Anything you want to get off your chest, James?

Agree, should of we just let him run around and be BOG all in the name of reconciliation?

I don't think that's what anyone wants

I'm just saying it's a bad round to be doing it from a public perspective; I doubt anyone said anything untoward.

Out he wanders on one of the prouder days he'll have in the AFL, and we try and knock him down several pegs.

Of all the stupid things you say... and there is a lot.. this pretty much takes the fairy bread.

Don't go after aboriginals during indigenous round.....?? wow !!

Perhaps we went after him despite the colour of his skin as he was a threat to us? Perhaps he is just a geelong prick and so we should smash him at all times anyway?

no no ... take it easy during indigenous round

:screwy:

Actually we should be giving him "special attention" precisely because it's indigenous round right? Isn't that the time to give attention to indigenous players?

I've explained my position, I just felt it was a tad heartless. We had blokes out there who reckon blackface is fair game for Halloween costumes so it additionally seems stupid to open that door so carelessly just for a meagre performance advantage.

I'll take his efforts over 2/3rds of yours, which I've otherwise barely seen scratched on a toilet door since high school, let alone for the general public.

I was enjoying the win but now realise we've learned nothing since we shunned Doug Nicholls.

Shame On you Bolts.

Remember the footy world doubted we had the personnel to kick a winning score?

No Betts
No Waite
No Garlett
No Bell
No Yarran
No Menzel
No Robinson
No Henderson
No Kennedy
No worries.

We kicked a ton today. Our first of the year.

Bolton has reset the club. We are heading in the right direction.

Proud Carltonian.
