I had my doubts last week but Bolton you are a genius.
2 rotations down since 1/4 time one being Murphy.
This is the Carlton I grew up as a kid watching

The Carlton we grew up watching was a class above and won on talent. I don't think they won with this much determination, pressure and will to win.

We've never seen this.

Totally agree with Brad. United playing group playing with absolute desire and applying immense pressure.

I wonder if Juddy has watched a couple of times this year and just wondered (at the back of his mind), what if... what if I did the rehab at the club and stayed on for this year... and maybe another.

Not sure about the spelling but people really should start using their own material.

He's more than welcome to throw his hat back in the ring

Most satisfying win in 15 years.

Coming off a thumping last week, 2 men down, playing the flag favourites coming off a loss, 2 big men playing after missing just 1 week with serious injuries and yet we endured everything they threw at us.

But what pleased the most, just like the Port game, is the aggression at the man and the ball is a geniuine want to impact the contest and just contrived huff and puff that might last a quarter. It's becoming a brand, a non-negotiable. Playing football "the Carlton way".

During the period of 2008 - 2013, we were known as a team hat had individual brilliance, but we're brittle and weak of mind. If you didn't allow us to play the way we wanted then we were beaten. Now we dictate terms.

How many times did flowers like Ballantyne, Monfries, Davey etc suck us into giving away stupid frees, and in turn change the momentum of the game. How often would we get scored against by allowing free players in the corridor, red time goals, no clue how to defend kickouts, no clue how to work the ball out of D50, no flying the flag when our players were targetted etc etc.

No more.

Watching us target Motlop physically and mentally, and getting to him to a point where his game suffered would have never happened previously.

It then flowed through the whole Geelong outfit, those constant fumbles in the 3rd quarter weren't a coincidence.

We've all been teased by false dawns before, but if you're not on board yet, do it now, because this is more than just talk. Theres a long way to go, but for once all the talk is being backed up with actions......

Great win against the odds. The players were happy but not over the top like they were against Port. Interesting reaction.

I think we were lucky in the first quarter. They could easily have been 6 goals or more in that quarter and it would have been us playing catch up.
We were thrashed early in centre clearances but clawed our way back from there and that's great. Kreuzer made a great contest but I don't think he actually won the ruck duels. His efforts at ground level today and attack of the footy and the man were his strengths.
Cripps gets better as the game goes on. He knows no fear and he backs himself to get the footy clear. Amazing kid.
Gorringe will be better for the run.
Gibbs is another player this season. His skills are the same but his effort has been amazing and he seems to have developed a bit of mongrel.
Rowe is turning into Mr Consistent. Great effort after being beaten early.
White is a soldier. You need soldiers in every team. Armfield is another. Some people on here don't seem to realize there are roles for them. Curnow is another.

On the down side, Wright, Kerridge and Lamb were a bit off the pace. That will always happen. They popped in and out and in the end it was OK.
Walker was better than he has been but is still not at his best, whatever that is. KJ is putting pressure on him from below.

The thing that impacted me more than anything on the day was the roar that erupted when Bolton came through the gate on to the ground after the game. He took it in his stride and nodded at the crowd or someone in it but he must have felt more than he showed. It was amazing. He has the entire club in his corner and it's a long time since we could say that about anybody.

I thought that was a bit rough considering it's indigenous round...

He did try and throw a haymaker at Tuohy's junk at one point.

We should actually ease up on indigenous players in indigenous round? :screwy:

Hmm, I think if a player has a track record of being put off his game, you use it. He has; fair tactic.

You think it's a good look to be targeting him for full-scale baiting?
