There no hurry with the rebuild as GWS are a juggernaut.

Personally, I didn't write him off as a ruck, I just said he shouldn't be sharing with Kreuzer and that he should have been working his way into it in the VFL.

I've written off Gorringe as a ruckman because he's been horrible at the role since being drafted. He's a key forward waiting to happen, and now there's a club investing in him at that position. Phillips has not been horrible as a ruck, just average.

Who's we?

Sorry forgot you're never wrong

It's a burden I live with.

But there were quite a few people on here who realised that he might need a few games to pick up the pace.

I never wrote him off. He had shown potential as a teen and at GWS.

I thought with a bit of weight and strength added to his height and leap and he could be a good package.
Also appreciated he can mark, kick and run too; athletic. AND he can kick goals.

I like him as a ruckman.

Where does all this love for Armfield come from?

I agree he plays with an intensity that guys like Everitt just could not understand but is so limited in ability that if Boekhorst is fit he should get the nod. Armfield is all heart but just does not contribute enough.

Gorringe I said should go on the basis of his rucking performance. If he was to be kept as a KPF fair enough as that was the only area he actually showed anything.

Gotta bring in Jaksch!

We got nothing to loose this weekend. The Cats are gonna come out all guns blazing.

The main thing i hated about yesterdays game was just how much we bombed it inside 50 expecting Levi to take a grab. As the commentators said, when we actually kicked to a leading forward we did ok.

Liam Jones, who i admit is doing better, is not a pack grab mark. But from what im reading (and somebody can correct me if im mistaken) Jaksch has taken some decent pack grab marks in the two's this year and has a good pair of hands on him.

Have Walker, Jones and Jaksch as our forward line.

Just watched the presser.

i don't think he was all that happy with Gorringe. Add that to what Barker said at half time and Mr Gorringe will be getting some blunt feedback.

what did Barker say Cimm? in the UK, so dont get much coverage, and missed the live feed

We have a temporary team balance crisis with our first 3 rucks sidelined. Maybe a bit ironic after we started the season fielding sides that had at least one too many tall slow types IMO.

Our best football was against Port when Kreuzer was our only real big player.

I'd prefer not too many changes. A few players looked flat after the six day break from the gruelling win against Port. They should mostly be better this week with the longer break where soreness was an issue.

Gorringe is unlikely to be much chop as a ruckman until he fills out and gets some confidence in his bulk relative to other players. He's very green but clearly has some talent. These games are good for his development. The MC would have to be concerned more generally about the centre clearances against North.

Wood was elevated last week so could now be brought into the side at least for this week while Phillips remains unavailable. My guess other changes unlikely unless they are forced. We should be quite competitive in the following two games so no need to throw everything around this week. I am not sure who should make way for Wood if he comes in.

Shame the NB's have the bye next week though. I am of the view that the seconds comp should be structured so that there is a game each week corresponding to the senior AFL season.

I think you're judging his output this game against North in isolation.
Armfield fans have explained their admiration for him in all games he's played this year prior to this week: intensity, pace, taking the game on, linking, setting up, goal kicking....

North smashed us.
Their midfield were given an armchair ride.
It was a very bad game for the whole team.

Armfield has shown more than Walker, Lamb....why don't you mention those guys too? you did mention Everitt: I agree.
What did Armfield's opponent do? I can tell you, much less than nearly all other opponents.

Whilst I'd love an upgrade on Arnfield, and plenty of others, Armfield isn't the problem....imo

I would like to see Wood play first ruck against Cats, and Gorringe as fwd -ruck.

Need Rowe against Hawkins. Hawkins has ragdolled Rowe before, so all our other defenders much too small.

Jaksch to come in as a KPF target.

If it is indigenous round then Walker survives.
If not, I've had enough. He isn't getting better, but then again we may forgive forwards this week.

If Jaksch and Wood came in I guess they would replace Walker and White (despite his good effort against Petrie).

I can't argue with a devoted Carlton fan.

I hope he starts to find form.
He seems to be in preservation mode.
Not doing enough as a senior player and leader imo.

For me it's simple,
Simpson Weitering Plowman
Docherty Rowe Bryne
Kerridge Cripps Boekhorst
Wright Jaksch Curnow
Thomas Jones Sunmer
Gorringe Murphy Gibbs
From; Tuohy Graham White Lamb
Rainbow and Cunningham are close to having a run..
Kreuzer, Casboult and Phillips hurt us... Every team has injuries we have no depth, simple..
Everitt and Walker can go get a hard ball in the twos...

Out: White Gorringe Armfield

Walker will get to 200 games, otherwise he'd be out instead of Armfield.

Keep getting games into players like Lamb and Sumner, it'll pay off in the future.

Tuohy Rowe Plowman
Docherty Weitering Byrne
Kerridge Cripps Simpson
Thomas Jaksch Gibbs
Everitt Jones Wright
Wood Murphy Curnow
Graham Lamb Sumner Walker

Smith (ex GC 1st ruck) vs Gorringe (ex GC delisted ruck)

I can see where this is going.

Smith has the luxury around the ground with support from Stanley Blicavs.
Gorringe has Rowe, and with that Hawkins will be manned by a much smaller bodied defender than Rowe.

I can see where this is going.

WE need to compete in the midfield, and we need to nullify Smith and Co.
Please not another armchair ride for our oppositions midfielders.

Bring Wood in the crash and bang up Smith.
Gorringe doesn't like contact. He's a basket baller me thinks.
