Gorringe was mentioned as a possibility so that would be fascinating viewing if he does play.

Maybe:

Gorringe for the F50 stoppages and centre bounces; Rowe for the D50 stoppages and 2nd centre bounce rotation; Cripps and Everitt through the middle.

Everitt might help cover Goldstein and Brown when they're in midfield.

edit: clarifying that it's just a theory

You can't have defenders taking the ruck. If Rowe plays as a relieving ruckman, I'd suggest it will be as a forward.
Personally, I think Rowe was excellent when he went forward on the weekend. Presented well, timed his leads well and was strong at the ball. Its his decision making when he takes possession that lets him down a bit.
I'd like to see Gorringe come in (not that I rate him) and rotate he and Rowe forward.
Jamison to keep his spot and possibly Jaksch to come in as a defender. (Even though I see him as a long term forward, this week he may have to play back)

Jaksch and Gorringe for Kruezer and Levi. I'd also be tempted to drop Walker for Graham but I'd give him one more week. If Ben Jacobs misses, it will be a bonus for our mids.

What I'm suggesting is that when there's a stoppage in the defensive 50, Rowe takes the ruck. The centre square component is in case of emergencies.

Gorringe is pretty fit, so he should be able to handle that component 90+% of the time, especially if he only takes F50 stoppages aside from that.

That way, we add an extra runner to the stoppage in Everitt.

Carlton has upgrade Cameron Wood from the rookie list as the replacement for Harry McKay, who was already on the long-term injury list.

I see what you did there, because Dick's last name means penis! So you have used it to create some sexual innuendo about condom use. You've used his name as a word in another way. Amazing intellect and humour!

That would mean you have used a pun! The type of humour that always guarantees to be outrageously funny, well done. I'm sure everyone who reads it shall laugh, hopefully it incites more people to follow in this trend and post more of these so we can all continue to larf!

That's been building up for a while hasn't it?

I can't handle it

Not even going to touch that one.

Yeah I've always wondered who minds the forward in that situation!

Fair enough; I reckon he can, simply because most of those stoppages are so close to goal you're not going to see leads from the key forwards.

Certainly within 40 m of goal it's not going to make that much of a difference, while it might wear down Goldstein.

White to Waite, Weitering to Petrie, Plowman to do his darnedest.

Both Daw and Wood out is a little boon to us.

I reckon Rowe and Gorringe might spend minutes dropping into the defensive zone, not that Casboult and Kreuzer weren't already doing that.

My guess is if Weitering doesn't pass the fitness test tomorrow Wood will come in and Rowe will go to defence.

This is a huge moment in his career, high draft pick never fulfilled his potential, this is his moment to prove he has any worth at AFL level.

He'll have a month to settle in if he starts well.

Rowe and Jones as our key forwards is the most likely outcome, if you were to tell blues supporters that would be the case after round 9 they would be spitting chips.

I think we are a chance.

Weitering back in (if he plays) certainly lessens any tall player problems caused by losing Kreuzer and Casboult. Weitering was brilliant before the team clicked, it'll be very interesting to see how well he goes now.
