Visions of that Freo Carl game at Etihad a few years back when Kreuze
did his knee and Brett Thorton 191cm rucked the game out against Sandi 211cm. Wave after wave of Freo centre clearances and nothing we could do about it

If it wasn't for Thorntons diabolical defensive work in that game Kreuzer wouldn't of had to run backwards into a pack to try a defensive spoil and wrecking his knee in the process.

I'm banking on Gorringe being available.....

B: Tuohy Plowman Walker
HB: Docherty White Byrne Simmo
C: Thomas Cripps E Curnow
HF: Everitt KJ Sumner
F: Jones Armfield

R: Rowe Gibbs Murphy

Inter: Gorringe Kerridge Lamb Wright

In - Gorringe, KJ, White
Out - Casboult (inj), Kreuzer (inj), Jamo

Undersized backline, but Weitering should not be rushed back if he's not quite ready. And Jamo currently offers nothing that we can't get from White.

With the short week, it also wouldn't surprise me if Graham is a late inclusion for Cripps.

Ok guys calm down, I was joking about putting Cripps in the ruck!

But if Wood and Gorringe aren't available we may as well rotate Rowe, Jones and White through the ruck to nullify Goldstein around the ground.

Korchek might do ok in the ruck but we would loose too much structure around the ground with him in and we need that structure to be competitive.

I think Levi's debut was in a similar ruck crisis situation in 2012 when both Kreuzer and Warnock were injured.
If Gorringe in available, pick him, if he's still injured, pick Wood.
Probably way early, but if we concede that we re probably going to get smashed in the ruck anyway, an th etwo guys mentioned above aren't available, would it be worth even considering the young American dude Korchek just so there's a big body to compete against Goldstein, and jus tell our mids to rove to Goldy's taps.
We need Rowe down back due to North's triple pronged attack of Petrie, Waite and Brown

Have to rove to Goldstein anyway, but concede the ruck before the game and well get murdered. Need a better strategy than this (rove to Goody). If Gorringe can ruck, he's taking duties ....not here for his looks!

I don't think it sounds all that crazy to play Korcheck if other rucks aren't fit. Prefer that than waste another smaller player who might be best used elsewhere.

Be sarcastic all you like. but it might be a Steven Bradbury scenario seeing as Kreuz, Levi and Phillips are all injured, and both Wood and Gorringe didn't even play VFL last week.

He might do ok in ruck contests but I think we would really suffer around the ground as from reports from the Northern games he doesn't really know where to run or what to do in general play yet. And it's how the team has been structuring up in general play that has been making us competitive this year.

Pretty sure that's how Levi Casboult made his debut for Carlton back in 2012 when, Warnock, Kreuzer, Hampson were all injured - he was the only player left on our list above 195cm.

But I'm sure someone will have the laser guided tape measure cross referenced with draft camp tables and Carlton a Medical records, with supporting video images to correct me.

Only Moshe has the style to pull that off.

We need Jammo for another week given they have Brown and Petrie forward.

On current form, can you honestly see Jamo stopping those guys? Normally I prefer Jamo to Walker and White as tall defenders, but I think we should roll the dice and play the more mobile types this week.

I hope North do go tall in their forward line. Our structure can cope, conceding marks inside 50 hasn't been an issue this year. It will allow Simmo, Doc, Byrne and Touhy to move the ball out with little pressure.

Do it North - go tall or go home.
