His front on attack at the opposition with the ball is......fearless.

He cops so many front on hits and fights for the ball when the opposition have the ball.

Blokes like Kerridge and Curnow are just incredible physical specimens who just go and go, and keep us going in the clinches.

I love the never say die attitude.

I don't think the coaching staff is anywhere near contemplating dropping Kerridge

I thought Kerridge wasn't as clean yesterday as previously having said that was like the rest in the last quarter -excellent and would nowhere near be getting dropped if you look at his performance over the last 8 rounds

Most players who bust a gut like the Curnows and Kerridges do so because of the stamina they have built over several preseasons. As a result they are fatigued a lot of the time they have to dispose of the ball. They are and regularly are criticised for their disposal efficiency. Curnow's delivery this year however has been well measured, but I'm guessing he understands his body better nowdays and kicks within his limitations. I think that will also happen with Kerridge. Geex they both go in hard with repeat efforts. Very fit individuals.

This weekend's game will be tough.
A lot going against the boys this weekend due to injury and form.
I know now we have heart, desire and belief in the game plan, and commitment to endure on our side.

We have ample injuries to our talls in particular against the tall North team.

OUT:
Casboult fracture (198cm forward)

INJURED
Kreuzer ankle (200cm ruck) hope he gets up
Cripps knee (196cm RR) hope he gets up
Plowman ribs (192cm 3rs tall back) hope he gets up
Weitering shoulder (194cm KB) hope he gets up
Philips knee (202cm ruck) hope he gets up but doubt it.
McKay stress fracture (202cm KF) NA
Curnow fever (192cm 3rd tall Fwd) NA
Gorringe inj/ form (200cm ruck fwd). Would have a chance this weekend if...

FORM ISSUES
Jamison body shot/form (192cm FB) hope he gets better
Walker knees/ form (190cm 3rd tall Fwd) he needs to find form in 2's. Can't carry him.
Jaksch form (198cm KP)
Gorringe form/ inj (200cm ruck/ FF)

North Forwards to cover

Petrie 197
Brown 200
Waite 194
Dawes 195 doubt he will play
Wood 192 wingman/ forward heavy concussion
Goldstein 200 ruck

If Kreuzer doesn't get up to compete against Goldstein we are in trouble.
If Rowe is needed in the ruck or forward we rob his size from backline for Petrie or Brown
If Jaksch was in form he would cover Waite as he did when he was with GWS, so I expect Plowman to get that job
Looks like we will need Jammo to go again on either Brown/ Petrie
Weitering is desperately needed to go 3rd tall especially when Rowe relieves Kreuzer for ruck duty, or we need his size forward.
Philips would have been handy against North.

Northern Blues players aren't showing much form. Tutt was their best, but we've got Sumner doing his role.
Boekhurst's speed would be helpful, and would be better than Walker who is badly out of form/ fitness....but Walker is a favourite son/leader and we may chose to continue to carry him in the hope he finds some form.

Do't like our chances this weekend with all these injury concerns.

Weitering is a must...only if he's ready.

I have reservations about your first point Bondi but the rest is spot on.
Love his work rate and effort.
He needs to improve in a couple of areas. He fumbles too much in traffic and rushes his disposal unnecessarily at times. Only young and hopefully has a bright future. A good get by the club.

Walker went back yesterday and did OK, wouldn't mind if he stayed back this week to help out the young talls by taking a Waite type.

Defence is where we can win this game, by running and running and running again when you feel like you can't. I hope the Roos do go with 4 talls up forward.

Playing the undefeated ladder leaders. We really should bring back Simon Minton-Connell for this

I think some people are so used to having a player to pick on that they're running out of options.

I think it has more to do with the game plan allowing them to not having to surge forward mindlessly, and then deliver the ball with a bit more in the tank.

Five, with Wood spending time on the wing.

I agree Frank he did butcher it a bit however towards the end of the last quarter he fired a perfect 30-40m pass from the HBF to the wing. I was so sure he would turn over I actually said to my son as he kicked it that I hoped our defence was ready because it was coming back - very glad to be wrong.

Phillips will not be in - talked to him after the game yesterday and said he is still around 2 weeks away with his hamstring. I think if Weitering is fit, then we bring him in and play Rowe forward/2nd ruck.

I'll have to watch the game back from yesterday, but I wonder how much Jamison's game changed when Rowe had to go forward? I don't think he is in the best form of his career at the moment, but certainly hurt him being essentially the only key position player in the back half - I think he may have got caught out a few times trying to be in a position to help teammates. Also copped a knock to the hand/wrist early when Westhoff kicked it in a marking contest, which seemed to bother him slightly throughout.

Jamison on Petrie, Weitering on Brown and Plowman on Waite? If they play Daw as well, then we will be stretched down back, but if we ensure our midfield pressure is up so that they don't get clean delivery to their talls, we will expose them at ground level and will look to rebound quickly and hurt them going the other way.

We'd be better off sitting back and protecting the space 65m out from goal, as they love to chip through a midfield zone.

Hope Bolts can keep the lid on things at Ikon Park this week.
We'll have to go up another level if we ve going to be any chance of beating the Kangas.
In saying that though, North have fallen over the line the last two weeks, as both the Saints and Drug Cheats ran over the top of them in the 2nd half of the games against them.
If we can stick with them like we did to Port yesterday in the first 3 quarters, I'd back us in to run over the top of them in the last quarter.

Pencil Petrie in for 10 or so.

Four in a row, the boys deserve a rest. No use going hell bent against the ladder leaders and costing us more than four points. Leave everyone who has been injured out, and give some sore and tired guys a break this week.

I'd bring in a bunch of young and inexperienced boys and tell them to have fun, have a crack at it and enjoy the big stage. Learn something.

We've done really well over the last month with the wins, not to mention the hard work we've endured with the losses too. Eight weeks and four/four = a well deserved rest and refresh.

Why risk guys who've been injured already? We've got nothing to prove this year to anyone, let alone the ladder leaders no one expects us to beat anyway. We'd be foolish to risk serious injury for the obvious.

I wanna see some fresh blood. Play the kids, give them a run for the experience. I want LONG TERM success, not risk everything over flower Norf ...

I actually think Jamo was slow and reactionary and stiff and bad below the knees... But I don't think we can drop him, given the opponent.

It's unconventional, but I'd start Walker on Waite, Plowman on Brown and Rowe on Petrie. I'd put Jamo at Full Forward - basically to negate Scott Thompson - until Rowe is needed in the ruck, then swap him back to Petrie. If Brown proves too strong for Plowman, then Jamo goes to him and Plowman goes forward for a spell.

North are get able they seem to jump out the blocks fast and then hang on.
If we can stay with them until half time they are there for the taking.
They have had a reasonably good draw so far with only playing WB and crows who could be considered top 8.
I'm feeling more confident every week
