If it were up to me

In: Graham, Boekhorst
Out: Walker, Jamison.

Not writing Walker off but I think he needs to build up some form in the VFL.

Big fan of what Bolton is doing with this group at the moment. We won't be favourites but we're a chance.

Should be a very good hard game , Let's hope we can bring the points home a nd make it a big Quattro
but in the end I think Port will be too strong.

We knocked them off last year with him.

Gibbs' tackle took care of that.

I'd take those changes as an improvement.

White was a last minute change because of shin soreness, so I expect White to replace Jammo. That will be a huge improvement because Jammo is well and truly cooked this time.

Walker has continued the form he had in round 1. No form at all. Slow. Old. Liability. Cooked. For those haoping Walker finds form in the VFL, he has to put a hell of effort for that to happen.

I'd like to see Boekhurst come in on a fast track at the Dome.

I also think Graham will be a liability on a fast track...but then again Boekhurst didn't do much in the NB;s loss to Casey....but he was in red hot form right from round 1.

Kreuzer vs Trengrove. Trengrove had 25 possossions in the ruck. That's what I call a ruck converting to ruck rover role after the bounce. Fingers crossed Kreuzer can nullify Trengrove.

If we bring the same intensity we'll take it up to Port.

Are we due for a letdown after 3 nice wins?

I think Bolton is great for the mentality of this group. Will be a good test, if not mentally as well to see how we approach next weeks game.

Having our leaders standing up is really helping us.

Bondi, Simmo looked cooked about 5-6 weeks ago as well. Look how well he's going now.

I think Walker just needs games under his belt, I do agree he was pedestrian last week. But just needs games.

Whether it's in the firsts or two's. Should be back to some good form once he gets match fitness and confidence back so long he stays injury free.

Boekhurst should be considered for this week.

If we bring out preasure game, we re a sneaky chance at an upset.
As mentioned, Port are flat track bullies, so put them under a bit of heat, and they could melt.
Hope the boys up forward have their kicking boots on for once though.
Gotta bust our nuts for Simmo!!

That's right....watched the game at airport in Paris at 5.30 am.

Lets hope for a repeat of that result

Problem is trusting Carlton ver.2016 to maintain consistency of application week to week.
Will we lapse this week or not...?

I agree White at the moment is a better option than Jamison, just not sure three tall defenders is needed while Port are only playing Dixon and Westhoff up there. At the moment I'd prefer a couple of players who can contribute in the middle.

Understand where you are coming from.

I thought after a brilliant preseason Simmo would have come out and be Simmo, but he seemed to have lost a yard and I thought realistically this could be his last year, and he isn't quick enough to play against small forwards. Ie their was a role for him to play.

With Jammo, I thought he was terrible 3 years ago, followed by a so and so year, but I could see he was cooked last year, and the weekend revealed where he is at....imo.
He wasn't coming off a good year, nor did he have an great preseason one would rave about, and still hasn't shown anything in the firsts nor reserves.

I am under no illusion with Jammo. Most would agree, but hey I'm happy to be proven wrong.

When does Jammo's current contract expire? If its the end of this year I doubt he will be recontracted.

I don't think Plowman can play against big boys like Westoff and Dixon, now can Jammo, hence White with Rowe for the big boys and hope we don't allow them to enter their forwardline on their terms.

I'm interested in why everyone is so keen to drop Jamison based on his weekend performance. I'll admit he didn't have much impact possession wise but neither did I see him obviously beaten. He seemed to play an average lock-down defender role.

Yes White is probably upside but I don't see anything Jamison did that means he should be dropped.

Because he's not playing like Andrew Swallow

Mind you, even if he was, one Swallow doesn't make a Sumner

If you're going to use my stuff, you could at least acknowledge it!

acknowledge what?????

If you made a similar comment, I can assure you, I didn't read it.

Jamo or White not a lot of difference, you would expect Jamo's experience to be invaluable but White is versatile, maybe keep Jamo in case Dixon gets on top of Rowe.

The player I am surprised people want back in is Boekhorst, I am yet to be impressed by this guy in any way, he seems a Kane Lucas version 2 to me, I would be surprised if he is with us next year.

My guess is Robin played for Nottingham Forest and the Sheriff played for Notts County.

Our lack of efficiency in attack will catch up with us sooner rather than later. It hasn't cost us in the last few weeks because of sheer weight of forward entries against mediocre opposition. I think Port @ Docklands will be a tougher assignment this week. You don't win 3 in a row and keep flying under the radar.

I think winning the contested ball is the key (as it usually is), so I would go-

In: Graham
Out: Jamo

I would roll the dice and play without the extra tall defender. Everitt & Walker are capable of going back if things get desperate.

B: Tuohy Rowe Byrne
HB: Docherty Plowman Simmo
C: Thomas Cripps E Curnow
HF: Kerridge Casboult Wright
F: Armfield Jones Walker

R: Kreuzer Gibbs Murphy

Inter: Everitt, Graham, Lamb, Sumner

Emerg: Boekhorst, Buckley, Jamo/White

I think Walker will be better for the run last week and I hope we persist with him for at least another game.

We have been terrific defensively in the most part recently and I get the feeling we'll need to bring our best game to win this one.

even though walker is slower and far less agile, he's important for the forward line.

he's the 3rd option you need up front. both levi and jones offer a contest and walker can and will beat a man in a one on one marking contest, which you need for our game.

the pies were the first time all year we've played with 3 forwards, and we nearly kicked 100pts. you gotta keep going with that. We really need a crumbing and defensive pressure guy to rove those contests up front.

imo, we need to swap white with jammo, and maybe swap everett out for some more outside run like boek or buckley??
