Ouch ... another excellent performance by Gibbs ...!

If he keeps going at this rate, he may be as valuable as Cripps to us

Needs to play to best of his ability EVERY FLOWERING WEEK. That's always been the mark on him

Too many 'pick and choose' games in his career. Get that through your MM ravaged head

And yes...the last couple of weeks have been what we expect of him. Great tackle!
Keep it up and we'll all agree with you BBW

The piece of play the sums up Docherty (and the improved work ethic of the team as a whole) for mine came in the last quarter. Treloar got the ball in the middle of the ground with no one around him, Docherty worked his backside off to chase and pressure the kick and then somehow kept going and ended up in the defensive pocket to spoil the ball and create a stoppage (meanwhile Treloar had stopped in the middle of the ground)

The willingness to run, both to create options going forward and to work defensively, is on another level this year. Great to watch.

A neat win... Though I'm starting to get shades of 2004 about this season.

We have a group of first round picks in reserve this time.

Casboult plays the 2nd ruck position/key forward combination so well. Gets his hands on the ball around the ground and it increases his confidence no end when he goes forward. Stood out for a numbers of years. Much better than when he's just simply a key forward and stuck with all the opposition defenders. It's something the club should take more note of. Don't need a true 2nd ruck. Does neither Kreuzer or Casboult any good.

Could it be that jones plays a role that in effect, makes casboult much more effective?

Too soft.

He had a good game, but it would have been better if those crappy kicks inside 50 had hit a bkue jumper instead of a black white one.

My admiration for Simmo's game overshadowed how great Doc was today. The fact this guy loves the club so much stands out.

I agree with you Brad..and it seems others also thought doch b.o.g yeaterday. I always have love for edward c. One of my favs..st simmo..my very favorite always..now sharing with baby cripps. I have not changed my mind re cas. Love him for his hands. want him used for marking ability between arcs. As a major goal kicker for us..way too flawed. (just my view..hold yer fire!)

This! Been a while since we've seen as structured an cohesive Carlton as we currently have. Bring in more high end talent over the next few years and introduce them to this system. In a few years we might have something pretty special.

I also heard Trigg on SEN. Don't care about his blunder at Adelaide. Everyone makes mistakes. He was really impressive...and the way he spoke about SOS' vision for list management, the more I believe that a great Carlton man with a niche skill set has come back to the club he loves to improve our haemmorhaging list.

It's nice after the last decade or so, having clearly professional guys both in positions of leadership within the club, but also publicly representing the club in the media. When Bolton and Trigg speak, it's hard not to believe the club is heading in the right direction.

Was nice to see Casboult realize that he is a big solid unit, the way that he hit Reid put a massive smile on my face

Some of those grabs Casboult was taking were quite audacious. He really had no idea how good he could be if he sorts out his kicking.

You can see the confidence in the group grow the past 3 weeks. So many positives and so much growth over just this time. Amazing. This really was an encouraging performance on so many levels.

Plenty of improvement to come and still some players need to go up a notch in endeavour but I feel the group is growing before our very eyes.....this is exiting and we could really surprise now. Our immediate priority is to find support for Casboult.

Go bagger - now that's what I'm talking about!

Ps. Our midfield setups and structures was so much better his week!

Yep. For my own sanity, I had to emotionally detach myself from all things Carlton. Especially last year. Tough to do when you care so much.

I know we still have a long way to go but I'm very much all in again.

Winning back jaded members and supporters is a great thing.

How good is the work rate of Wright and Kerridge. They have really brought effort into this side. Armfield important too.

Well said. A plan with commitment and effort - 'unity' like BB referred to yesterday - is a great change and most welcome by any bluebagger.

Sure we don't have the skill and lets be honest, 10 spots on the list go to players not long for the game, but we have a plan, leadership, logic and real effort.

I think Murphy is smiling again :).

I agree

I would much rather players who put in their all that may be less gifted, as opposed to a talented player with heaps of potential that lacks the effort and desire ala Menzel and Yarran.

Don't forget Lamb, I think he is really starting to gain confidence and become a valuable player for us.

Hopefully Kerridge can improve his ball use as he gains confidence and continuity - I can see why he wasn't a regular at the Crows.

Simmo & Doc. MASSIVE.
Curnow, Cripps, Gibbs & Levi. So good.

Must say, enjoying my time at the football is still foreign feeling and I don't feel comfortable until we're 3 goals up with 15 seconds to go.
