OMG! An absolute Red Letter day in TC history. A non negative comment from Agro. Although he could have been talking about anything I'll kid myself and believe he is talking about the Blues. :smoking: :smoking:

Damn we must have been good.

What wasn't to like I had a few beers in the members with my son, we just beat the filth and walked back to flinders street with my boy.

Brought back memories of my dad doing the same thing with me after the 72 Grand final (minus the beer as I was only ten).

We've got a long way to go and as I said earlier there's only a handful of players out there who will still be with us when we next finish top four.

Surprised they weren't booing Rowe for surviving cancer.

Agreed.

Not sure exactly
But I believe
Beef Burgundy

Chicken and leek were the main outs.

3 weeks on the trot we haven't let an out of form opponent find form.
Our pressure is really good at the moment and is making life hard for opponents to play cleanly.

Simmo Cripps ECurnow terrific.

Pros:

Our movement into the forward line was the best I've seen in quite some time.
Senior players for the 3rd week in a row.
Midfield dominance.
More goals than behind.
Loved the games of Cripps, Gibbs, Docherty and Simmo.
Best game from Kreuzer for a while.
2nd week in a row Curnow has started like a house on fire.

Cons:

If we'd made the most of those opportunities in the 1st quarter could have been a much easier win.
Walker didn't show much.

As unfortunate the circumstances were, today showed what we can get out of not carrying a second ruck just to jump at stoppages. Casboult was a @#$%&! monster, Kreuzer chugged along and enjoyed his role more, while the fact the Walker and Jamison were clearly not fit enough to get in the game didn't even matter.

Have a look at the TOG%:

What a fantastic spread, and it showed in our decision making. Just wish a few could have executed a little better, particularly when handballing in traffic (too many went back into traffic off a blind call) and kicking into a crowded 50 (kept trying to spear it towards the hotspot rather than kick some advantage side of the hotspot).

In addition, a fit Everitt just ran all over any opponent he was handed, and had he stuck a few marks (you guys have a quibble at midfielders for double clutching, but go mental when talls do the same thing) he'd have had Riewoldt numbers. Compliments Casboult really well and draws a smart defender or two out of the zone.

Strongly disagree, but you'd think less than half of that team would be regular contributors at that point.

Gun, and an absolute inspiration. Should have been captain 3 years ago and should be now.

All of you dissenters.....@#$%&! off!!!

Put your hand up if you've written Old Man Simpson off at anytime over the last 4 years.

If you've written him off and you didn't put your hand up, @#$%&! off.

If you've written him off and you did put your hand up, @#$%&! off slightly less.

He bleeds blue and has been an amazing player. About to step pass some of our greats in terms of games played. It's such a shame he hasn't had the opportunity to play more finals.

The only good thing Malthouse can claim to have done was moving Simmo to half-back.

Most of the my favourite Carlton players have been the courageous, head over the ball types. Guys like Hunter, Silvagni and Teague were courageous running with the flight into marking contests. Simmo lacks nothing when it comes to courage in comparison to these guys.

hey he is a very underrated player, I can't imagine how strong and fit this guy must be
his skill level has increased enormously but if you look close it's all the small inside intelligent aspects of his game that I'm also impress by
much improved player from a few years ago or maybe he just flourishing now with our new coaching staff just like everybody else

Didn't see this post, but just posted similar sentiments. I think Bolts is a better coach for the times than Pago was!

Don't agree. Just drafted Weitering. Curnow looks good. A bloke with the right traits and genetics. The other two are unknown but it doesn't feel the same to me.

I think Phillips will come straight back in when fit.

So proud of the players, all you ask is for commitment and effort, and they delivered in spades. How good is Cripps? His ruckwork as third man up was fantastic.

Possibly Casboult's best game (I still can't look when he kicks for goal though). Simmo just fantastic. He's always been a favourite of mine, but I thought his best was behind him. I still think he probably should retire at the end of this year though (go out on a high Simmo).

Three goals each by three of our most maligned players. I've always wanted Everitt in the side, as I've said before he's a goal kicker and we haven't got many of them. I'll wear a few stuff ups as long as he keeps kicking goals. Walker wasn't done any favours in being picked for this game, he was terribly rusty.

A great team effort. There will be plenty more losses before the year is out, but this mob have got a terrific work ethic, I'm looking forward to the next few years. We are on the right track at last.

Wow, who would have thought we would win 3 in a row?
Great game, good pressure all day.
Simmo, Gibbs and Docherty really good.
Had a great day and looking forward to the replay later tonight.

Haven't seen the game yet, don't care. We have beaten the filth and thrown them into further disarray ..... That would do me. I'm happy again!
