Thought that too - but there are more ways to trade into the draft these days.

I'd hate for us to get another Russell and Hartlett for a rebuild

Don't agree

In 2004, the club was extremely naive when it came to expectations. In those days it still believed that our time at the bottom would pass quickly and we would rise to being a power again within a few years. Also our list had no real potential relying on cast offs

At least this year it appears the club has lowered its expectations in the short term and prepared to make some hard decisions about list management

Even though it was 26 degrees today, one win doesn't make a summer.

There are still only a handful of player on that park today that may, (and I mean may in the 5000 to 1 long shot sense) may play in our next top four finish.

This can only be due to the coach. A seriously focused and infectious guy. And never changed the mantra even after those consecutive losses. We will be seriously good as SOS and crew build the list and it may happen quicker than we think.

Lots of positives but would like to give a special mention to Simmos last quarter. Sublime :smoking:

Equally I don't want to mention Everitts dropped chest marks.....

I had a feeling we'd win but it was good for it to follow through.

Still can't believe Casboult kicked that last goal of his.

Don't see any resemblance to 2004.

Trigg on SEN this morning on why we didn't pursue Treloar (Nick Stevens), further reinforces the difference.

Went and sat in bleachers today and was very pleasantly surprised. Gibbs BOG IMO just kicked those momentum shifting goals. Casboult fantastic, Simpsons runs in the last quarter were exhilarating, Cripps is my favourite player in the AFL, Rest of the team played great, structured football (except for old man Andrew Walker). Had a celebratory at the Gertrude Hotel and boy was it sweet.

Not that it matters. But who are the 11 players pies were missing?

Curnow was BOG in my book. Shut Treloar out of the game, had 7 clearances including 4 centre clearances, 24 possessions including 14 contested, 13 tackles, runs harder than anyone, great game.

How good is it that we can genuinely debate who our best players are. Great sign and very pleasing.

Never thought I'd catch myself saying this, but Levi Casboult was the difference!

OMG! An absolute Red Letter day in TC history. A non negative comment from Agro. Although he could have been talking about anything I'll kid myself and believe he is talking about the Blues. :smoking: :smoking:

Damn we must have been good.

 I love Curnow. Squeezes every drop out. I tipped his top 5 finish in the B&F a few years ago, and he's improved since then.

2004 was bigger body cast-offs, this is an up and coming side.

Didn't see this post, but just posted similar sentiments. I think Bolts is a better coach for the times than Pago was!
