I'd even take a punt on KJ. Cant be any worse than Jones or Levi.

Reckon Jaksch will come in but replace Weitering in defence. Not sure I want to to play some poor young up and comer on our forward line yet and crucify him. Would be the same with McKay if he was available. Let them play forward when we can move the ball into our forward 50 quickly and efficiently. Until then let blokes like Casboult, who playing alright between the arcs, and Jones, who both aren't so much our future, put up with the crap in put forward line for now.

I'm thinking White will replace Weitering and Everitt will replace White.
Cripps will replace Graham.

That's two ins, one forced and one not forced and I can't see us having any others unless 1AW is deemed ready, which I doubt..

That leaves us 1 player short.....

need another tall if Cloke and Cox play forward - white or plowman not tall enough to take either and Rowe needs to take one of them - KJ should play and should be included for weitering

If they go too tall, they'll be slow. We are probably playing one tall too many anyway. KJ for Weitering and Cripps for Graham sounds about right to me.

Need to trust our team defense. Then use the extra mobile player to rebound and exploit their tall forward line. Our plan v theirs.

True,

Looks like the Bombers picked up on Plowmans 1 v 1 troubles against taller Dockers opponents and tried to islolate him.

White and Plowman are both tall enough to take Cox. If one stands on the other's shoulders. Does that qualify as team defense?

I am happy to bring in KJ if they think he is ready. But I'm not opposed to leaving him a bit longer in the VFL until he is really hungry and doesn't believe that a couple of decent performances at VFL level is good enough to get promoted.

On a separate note, I also think we should call Sav Rocca back...

I think that Bolts has made a deal with Casboult that provided he does the team thing away from goal he will back him 100%

As much as we need Casboult to come good asap (by good I mean as good as last year) I think that Bolts wants him to do it on his own so that he takes ownership in his ability and when his confidence comes back it will be more lasting having come from within than simply trusting the guidance from Sav.

A lot has been made of his action and although not great, his field kicking is quite reasonable so I believe that his number 1 issue is belief.

Unfortunately only he alone can fix that issue and I believe that Bolts will give him all the time it takes this season to do that.

No coincidence that he was back in form as soon as he was playing on the ball again. Team highs in pressure acts and tackles, he'll make a good on ball partner for Cripps.

I don't think we can win this one, which is a shame because winning is the only result that will impress me. I'll just feel 'meh' and flat otherwise.

I am aching to be surprised.

i am very confident in our defensive structures and ability to clamp down on collingwood

Just need to improve the forward business a touch
