Well I think we would all agree with him - some of those forward entries are convoluted and rather heartbreaking!

Just watched Peter Dickson's The Chosen Few again. Very interesting to look back on that regarding Hardwick, Lyon, Buckley and Malthouse. One down and the others not travelling so well.

I love this guy so much, and everything he says. Clearly won't be satisfied with gradual improvement.

Interesting that he said we don't give the effort for 4 quarters. I wonder if he meant in general or was sending a message to certain players....or if he means 4 quarter performance rather than effort.

One thing I love about Bolts, is how much he controls himself in the box. It always amazes me to see coaches engaging in histrionics. How can you expect your players to be calm and collected if they re watching you on the big screen losing it?

Just as you want you airline captain cool in a crisis, so do you want the coach.

For mine, its little things like this that have me confident we have the right man for the job.

Agreed. He seems to go for a short stroll around the box when he needs to vent, instead of the traditional poleaxing of the phone on the desk employed by many coaches. Seems a slightly more measured approach.

Well he's definitely got our defense sorted out. Currently in the top 6 based on points conceded.

Let's not talk about the other end though....

Our club makes grown men cry themselves to sleep at night.....it won't be long before he loses it in the coaches box

If the last 2 games didnt make him lose his s@#t he should be fine. Although we won both there have been some astounding errors. :banghead:

Bolton could be our best recruit.

Let's not talk about the other end though....

In Ron Barassi's early years at Carlton building a strong back line was key factor in the club's rise. Then bring in a few reasonable forwards, Jesaulenko, Kekovich, Jackson, Walls, Robertson etc.
Worked fairly well...... :smoking:

Its normal behaviour by most coaches because its accepted by the football community. Players are admonished for the slightest hint of poor body language on the field yet coaches carry on like @#$%&! lunatics in the coaching box.
Perhaps its time the coaches put some of the same expectations on themselves that they put on the players. It serves no purpose and in reality, it impacts their ability to do their job properly.

That team that beat Collingwood today still has Weitering, Curnow, Boekhorst, Jaksch, Mckay, Cuningham, Sheehan, Graham, Buckley, Silvagni, Philips and DVR as definite or possible inclusions over the next two years. It's gonna be very interesting to see how far Bolton can take this playing group.

And thats without any further recruits, trades or free agents coming on board!!

Interestingly, the Eagles in Adam Simpson's first year after he came over from Hawthorn/Clarkson were also 3-4 after their first seven games. Sure stepped it up a notch after another pre-season with him though.
