word is cripps could have played, it was just a tight calf on thursday and the medicos went ultra conservative. he's expected to train this week.

he'd be an almost certainty for the pies i'd think (provided he doesn't break down at training)

i'd be thinking weiters is definitely out and jamo if fit would come in. if not, it's time to insert dick into the pies.

Everitt had a shocker last week and by reports played well Saturday. I'd like him to do it again before returning as he was pathetic before being dropped or injured.

I don't disagree on managing Everitt's intermittent desire to play at this level; I just don't think Walker should be considered as an option yet. He's missed too much football and his Round 1 wasn't that crash hot. I know he is a fitness machine, well, he was, pre this knee injury, but can he command a spot in the 1s when fit?

My thinking re Walker is similar.
He had an interrupted preseason.
When I saw him chasing in the round 1 game, I was shocked when he couldn't catch opponents like he use to do.
He's lost a yard.

What Walker has got is footy smarts, knowing where to lead to get a shot at goal.
Then we need him to have his kicking boot on coz he's hit or miss these days.

I think Casboult between the arcs for obvious reasons is worth trying.
Its his marking we value not his kicking for goal, so get him out of the forwardline.
That makes him a ruckman.

Question is, is that 1st ruck or 2nd ruck?

OR, do you want him as the CHF between the arcs and retaining Kreuzer/Philips as the ruckmen?
That leaves only Philips who can take a mark forward and kick a goal.
So Kreuzer and Casboult between the arcs? IMO that's a bit top heavy.

One of Kreuzer, Philips and Casboult has to go.

That will help us.
We need to recover well because you could see in the last of the past 2 games our midfielders tire so they'd be feeling fatigued.

We need a few things to go our way...and maybe, just maybe win this!!!!

Contested ball and clearance wins are a must.

Come on down Mr Cripps.

With Weitering injured, I don't think Jamison is AFL standard anymore.
So who takes Weiterings spot to support Rowe and Plowman?

I don't expect Cloke and The Texan to both play.
Cloke is off the boil...but would like him to play.

Plowman is a 3rd tall.

Ah, yes you can? He was Fumbles O'Brien up forward, and he couldn't hold Mitch Brown at the other end.

Who do you suggest he lines up on out of Cox, Moore and Howe? Do you think he can be competitive at the other end?

Good on him for working hard today, but that's not enough if Weitering is fit, and I'd argue it's still not enough when we can bring in Charlie or Everitt and tell them to move from arc to arc to give a chop out, while someone like Tuohy or Docherty stands Howe.

No..def. not Casboult in ruck.
I like K. And Phillips sharing.
Daisy and Walks forward.
Maybe andre and Casboult running the wings. I have plenty of faith in K. Still.

You don't think Casboult is a good ruckman?
He's the same size as Kreuzer and can jump higher.
Do you think Kreuzer's 15 HO's are crucial to our team's fortunes?
OR, do you think Kreuzer will improve or happy with his current output?

I love Kreuzer for his heart and loyalty to the Blues, but I'm looking for reasons to keep him in the team hence why I ask how and why other supporters think he should be in the team.

Kreuzer's bullocking work at the stoppages and his runs were much more controlled in the first half. He ran around a bit more in the second half, but the game had started opening up.

The only place Phillips is truly shading him is elevation at the centre bounces, although right now Phillips is obviously a bit cleaner with the footy in hand, but I see that as a confidence thing. Phillips seems to have a knack for delivering taps to advantage for the opposition, so I'm not sure that really helps us that much.

I suppose it's possible they'll drop one of Krooz or Phillips.

But didn't they just play their best game together?

It would be strange for the MC to persist with 2 rucks for the first 5 rounds and then ditch the idea when it finally pays off.

The only reason I could see them dropping one (other than injury) is that Phillips is #1 and considered good enough to ruck alone. Phillips took contested marks and kick the sealer from 50. Can't see him going anywhere.

Not a fan of cas. In ruck. Use his marking..best feature. :D
K. I believe he is improving each week..and his endeavour is fantastic. Like Daisy..I reckon persist..he will start kicking goals again soon.

Exactly. Honestly dont see the need at this stage for 'either or.'

We can beat Collingwood and Port here.. mind you, beating Coll and Port would net us 4 wins in a row..
Then lose to Norf & Geelong.
Then beat Brisbane.. and that 5/6 at the half way mark.

Cripps could have played today but they didn't want to risk it. If he's passed fit he's good to play, don't know why so many here are treating our players like children.

Because in football terms, he's still a baby, yet we are so bereft of talent that he has now become our #1 mid, getting smashed at all contests (after what 30 games)
Take a conservative path with him and don't burn him out

He is not a cheap electric motor

I agree that they actually look like they might click into place, but feel we could have invested in Phillips at VFL level for the first 3 or 4 rounds.

Levi is the one who should go, because he has mentally crumbled. They've given him a month now, and there's no sign of improvement. He needs to find it within himself, maybe in combination with a sports psychologist.

Can't see us getting over the top of the pies. It will be a slog and very hard contest but I don't think we've quite their ready.
They blew the bombers away last week , yet we had a hard struggle to get the points home.
Still with some luck and pending on personal should give them a good battle and if we steal it , well that would be great. Go Baggers
