There was an open training session today, and there's people on BF saying Cripps trained. No clue on Weitering, who others have been worried about. Make of that what you will.

There'd be a lot of money on this game, and it wouldn't surprise me if some people were stirring the pot to get some favourable odds.

Now I hear that our two best young players are about to be ruled out.

This has a very familiar feel to it...

We can now add a Robbo troll/puff piece to the mix.

Quote:
Carlton is Carlton again. A team for the people, the Puffing Billy of football, and everyone with a drop of blue blood is encouraged to jump on board.

Last week’s victory over Fremantle was one gentle step in restoring on-field respect, but giant steps had already been taken off the field to restore self-respect.

The football side is for all to see.

Hardly a team of stars, the Blues have a healthy work ethic.

Leigh Matthews likes to say, what does the fan in the stand want? The fan wants his team to have a crack and if the team loses, the fan can say, you know what, at least they had a crack.

The Blues are no push overs. They defend how modern football should be defended: Space and numbers back, and they press up.

It all starts at the contest.

The Blues lost the contested ball against the Dockers by seven, but won the final quarter by 10. That’s what’s football is about. Working over the opposition in a final quarter and winning the game.

The contested stuff was never an issue under Malthouse, his problem was on the outside, where they couldn’t defend spread.

Structurally and defensively, the Blues are much, much better under Bolton. Basically, they are even when it comes to time in forward half (they are ranked 8th), where as last year they were minus eight minutes (ranked 17th).

In a season where scoring has improved, Bolton has managed to get last year’s points against of 107 (ranked 18th) down to 94 this year (ranked 9th).

There are issues with skill and kicking goals, but that will come.

Feel good stories abound and feeling good is where it must start.

We're losing this game...

I was already extremely nervous. No Cripps and apparently no Weitering too. Can see where this is leading....

Open the worry room. We may not win but I'm not worried about being smashed, even with the supposed outs. We're a far better structured side now. It's been drilled into them all and I expect whoever comes in will play their role accordingly. We're not as flakey as we were.

If anyone thought last weeks game was the most unskilled game in football history then they'll be in tears by the end of this one, blowing a gale and will be wet....

2 bush league sides on paper, but Carlton would have to be in a far better state of mind.
If we can convert our chances into goals we should win.

If we give them a sniff, they'll take it and run. Need to put them away early.

I still think we are favourites but not by a huge margin, especially if we have no Cripps or Weitering.

This is a game missing chances could bite us though a la Richmond

It's going to be a lot less fun watching without Curnow, Cripps and Weitering!

But man I couldn't hate Essendon* any more! I want to see us crush them. We can lost every other game for the year for all I care, as long as we beat these drug cheats

I don't think we have the ability to put anyone away.

Be nice though .
