So it is confirmed.

Make the call to Bolton. Though you can at least give him the option of choosing between Boekhorst and Army. Wouldn't want to undermine him totally.

The impression I get from having watched Kade Simpson over the past 2 seasons in particular is that he is worried about being known as a one sided player. Oddly he ofter seems to seek out his right foot in some weird attempt to prove that he isn't. There was a classic case on Sunday (although watching it through very hazy jetlag) where, 2nd quarter I think, he wheeled back from a left footed position (admittedly looking toward the corridor) onto his right, kicked his usual right foot junkball to the waiting arms of some non-descript player I don't know in purple.

I honestly feel there are times where he does use his right when he really doesn't need to.

Boekhorst is another week away so I guess he doesn't get that option.

Glad he's never been known as a player with no heart then.

If we can get one, maybe two more games from him I'd like to see him get a rest after that.

He's a defender with elite endurance who isn't pushing up the ground that much on the aggregate. I honestly think if others step up in their rebound efforts (namely Plowman as he gets his fitness up, as well as Rowe/Jamison), he might only need the bye.

Armfield has been a stand out in the NB's.
We need outside speed.
I have Armfield and Boekhurst in my first 22.

Must be Armfield.
His pace and his defensive work, as well as his ability to bob up for a goal or two will see him getting the nod.

We have to win this one. Have to.

They will be looking at this game as a probable win after their 10 goal thrashing of us in the NAB.
In that game we had our entire midfield out. Lets hope they forget that and they come our over confident.

We have to win this. Have to.

If Tuohy is retained (bad luck for Dick whose also been in good form in NB's) I hope he doesn't give away silly free kicks and he steps up. He's looked like an old man. He's lost a yard on last year...and as a result, he's shitting me atm.

Ha. Top guy's an idiot IMO. But Chamberlain's a good umpire. Seems to get the game and is pretty consistent.

I doubt they'll cost us the game. We should be 10 goals ahead by half-time, and leave nothing open for them.

Both teams have defended ok this year but I expect Essendons flood gates to open more than ours. We're a team on a mission, we should continue to improve throughout the season Essendon* are a team on hold and I expect them to lose their resistance.

I think this will be low scoring affair, turn overs, etc unless Essendons gates are open, then we may kick our biggest score yet but I don't think Essendon* will do the same.

Carlton by 13.

 Get ready to be disappointed if you are expecting an easy win.

We've kicked 12, 10, 5, 7 & 10 goals in our first five games. I don't see us as a side that blows teams away. Where are we going to suddenly find the firepower to out score a team by 10 goals in a half? At best, we'll win the match 12 goals to 8 goals or something like that.

Essendon* will see this as a winnable game, coming off an embarrassing loss. I reckon it will be close.

10/12 last rd.
no reason it couldn't be 14/8, 15/7. Eventually we will get our kicking boots on, don't you think?

Rob Sitch and co would have a lot of fun with you...

From our midfield.

We've been up against some pretty decent midfields so far this year. Essendon* are shit.

They don't come much shitter than Freo last week. We thumped them by 4 points.

How else am I to describe running loads across multiple games? :P

Genuinely, the Gold Coast game is the only time the kid has broken out into a sweat; he's almost too fit for his position on the field.

Dick hasn't been that good for the Ants. Still doesn't attack and makes mistakes. In the air he has been a bit better than last year. I'd stick with Touhy.
