I was at Subi today and thinking nothing could be better than where I was.

.....but maybe, just maybe, you have me covered.

Anyone else feel drained... that was one of the hardest 3 hours of watching football I've ever endured, but boy it was worth it. Feels great to have a win. Don't care how it comes. Rapted for Bolts and all the first time winners. GO BLUES!!

I've run 3 Marathons but that was far more draining. I'll need a few more Spanish reds to recover...

Son ricos sin duda!

No Sandilands Munday Fyfe (for a half) Johnson and Ballantyne virtually useless due to injury plus a team that has struggled with the new rules should be all factors when looking at the win

We need to execute better if we are to beat Essendon* next week
Pluses
Love Byrne, Plowman and Weitering Docherty. The backline is taking shape with Tuohy and Simmo
Rose played well
Wright
Kerridge
Charlie and Ed
Murphy great
Gibbs was ordinary at times but great last quarter goal
Thomas 3 goals
Casboult needs to play up the ground did ok last night

Best 2 things were the effort for 4 quarters and we structure up so much better than last year
Due to appointing a modern day coach through a proper interview process we simply are harder to play against
That's the biggest plus of all.

Work with some very passionate Dockers supporters who have taken much pleasure rubbing it in to me these past few years.

Rocking up to work on Tuesday in my Carlton jumper. Seriously.

I thought the perspective was that they have been the Team with highest Win/Loss ratio in the AFL these past 3 years and they played off in a Prelim last year. Plus in WA they are a 6 goal better team. On their best days in 2015, without those 4 players, they would still beat us by 10 goals on their home ground.

We are a bottom of the ladder team who played on shear guts, very little talent and a poorly functioning F50.

That's perspective.

Don't suppose you happen to know the tool responsible for that do you?

I can only make suggestions. After that not much I can do about it.

Intensity is a ''must have'' and we have it. Gives us something to build on.

Skills are a work in progress.

This win will be invaluable for the boys and especially away as it will bond this very newly formed team and strengthen camaraderie amongst the group.

The gut's shown over the 4 quarters demonstrates the importance of taking one step back in talent to go 2 steps forward in attitude and workrate.

QFT. We are much harder to play against. It's a major improvement. And yes we still have a lot to work on. But it is a basis to work from.

I must have been watching a different game to all you guys as I thought it was a really poor display! I thought we were shocking for 3 and a half quarters! So many simple mistakes like handballing to each others feet and half our team being passengers.

The Blues put in one of our worst performances this year and only won due to Freo being even worse and copping a bunch of injuries.

Defensively we were pretty good, especially with the way we entered our forward line and the way the forwards spaced for each other.

Maybe it was Freos grit and grind style that wore the game down and made it a scrappier affair...but there were a lot more negatives than positives on the night for me.

It's great for the club to get the win and great for the players to finally get some reward for effort, they needed it, as you can tell they are busting a gut out there. I got the feeling the whole game that if we were playing any other team last night it would have been over by half time with our errors. But man that was an awful game to watch....maybe I'll watch it again and maybe I'll see more positives

True but Lachie Neale is a gun player out of contract this year.
A great start to 2016 after a quality 2015 and only 22 years of age. We need another midfielder capable of playing an inside/outside game and he's one of the best. Not a native West Australian so hopefully we're well and truly in his managers ear.

Ex Glenelg boy, and there's been rumours that Adelaide have been chasing hard since trade period last year.

That game took me back a lot of years, back to when footy was hard and tough, it wasn't pretty but there was plenty of pressure being applied, both sides hit each other hard and we put our first four quarter effort together for a long time, I'll take that every day of the week, we played tough hard uncompromising footy yesterday, if we apply enough heat to any team their skills will suffer.
Hit em hard and hit em often blue boys.

If it's a 5 for most vitriolic I agree

The scars of recent years run deep. Rapt for the boys and coaching staff. Gee Byrne spends a lot of time wearing Claret.....he goes ok !

That bit of play on the wing from Weitering was outrageously good under pressure, and for his age
