The zone defence is really coming together under Bolton.

Really hope Byrne and Curnow can play every game for the rest of this year.

Our next 3 games are Essendon*, Collingwood, Port.

What are you going to say when we are 4-4

Love the optimism, but I don't think we've won 4 in a row since 2001...

We looked really unfit out there in the 2nd half. They completely ran over us. Our fitness levels were down, in comparison to earlier rounds. Terrible!

Right jim?

Without going all Jarusa, I noticed a couple of days ago we had a four win streak in maybe 2011 or 2012. Surprised the shit out of me as well.

EDIT: Well bugger me backwards, 2011 it is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_AFL_season

It's nice to know they had something in the tank when a win was on the line, but Fyfe and Ballantyne didn't play out the match, and Johnson hobbled back on in the final quarter and might not play next week, so it's not like they weren't handed a massive advantage in the last quarter.

Since 2011 and 2009 before that....

Hey, we were actually pretty good in that era.... it just ended way too fast...

Despite his obvious mistake, I thought Byrne was excellent. Surprisingly good overhead. And his pace and nice skills coming out of defence are a huge plus.
Nice to finally kick less behinds than the opposition. Funny how it coincided with a victory.
We actually seemed to come ahead in the coaching/tactical battle for once. Freo were slightly ahead in most stats, but the extra numbers behind the ball and rebound footy seemed to benefit us. Well done, MC.
Rowe had a terrific game.

the outside

Absolutely for the team and Bolts to get the monkey off their backs - tough draw to start the season, should have beaten tigers. This helps a LOT

Great fight, good performance from the young kids and ciaran.
Happy for Jones to get a little confidence boost.
Levi will be feeling crap about his performance in front of goal , but overall I thought he did some good things..

However we were truly horrible to watch for most of the game, and Freo were wretched.

Bolts won't let them get carried away because the cheats will be fired up next week..
