Right now only just Kreuzer ahead of Wood. Gibbs is too lazy too but suppose one has to pick him.

Might be a couple not quite match fit yet but eventually like their side. Adds alot more pace and run. Spine looks better too.

How can you pick a best 22 that contains 3 players who have never played for us and have not dominated the VFL?
You have left out a player who ran 3rd in the B&F last year.
You have left out a player who topped our goalkicking last year.

This is a speculative side, not based on any exposed form at all.

That's speculative at best.

Not sure Casboult has the tank to be a 2nd ruck.

Kreuzer and Phillips or Gorringe is the best we can muster.

Kreuzer must be instructed to focus on more marks and linking up around the ground rather than trying to burrow into the packs.

Unfortunately, that's his forte. You take that away he has nothing left.
He has a huge heart but he is not a #1 ruck.
I think the game has passed him by before he ever got a good run up at it.

I think E Curnow should be on the ground and Cuningham on the bench. Backline possibly a bit too top heavy, otherwise pretty good....

I'm with you Rexy re: Jaksch. I would play him back in 2017, preferably in the seniors, and let him settle there.

I'm hoping that's the right approach with him.
That's where I saw him play well, when he beat Waite convincingly.

I thought it looked better with three players we haven't got at the club instead of just two.
And Byrne will be lucky to play a game in 2017.

Ha! Could you imagine getting Rory Sloane into our side? A player like that would make such a big difference to us.

Seems Tomlinson wants to stay a giant :(

Oh well I guess the next best tall forward is Kreuzer if we don't get a trade.

Sad news. Marchbank still looks likely to move to Carlton.

Assuming he is fit and doesn't need serious surgery, if Marchbank takes a defensive post and we use 3 talls down back, the candidates will be:

Weitering Plowman Marchbank Rowe Jaksch White

Therefore, if we go for 3 talls in the forwardline the candidates will be:

Casboult, Kreuzer, Rowe, Jaksch...geez they don't fill me with confidence...McKay (developing and only 19yo), Weitering.

IMO Rowe will be needed to mind the gorillas till we find a bonafide replacement or the young ones get stronger.

We need replacements for Rowe, Casboult and Kreuzer.

Jaksch is a wild card

Tomlinson signed.

Marchbank would be an ok get (but I certainly wouldn't be trading much more than a 2nd round pick now and next year). It would sure up the defence long term. But yes, another year of Rowe playing on the bigger full forwards is required.

Forward line will naturally improve if we draft highly skilled (kicking) mid fielders.

Our forward line will be built around Mckay, Curnow, Silvagni J and Silvagni B but we are looking at 2019 at least before that is in full flight. In between, it looks more of Casbolt. I would definitely consider Kreuzer as a short term forward to shield the youngsters. Casbolt has no idea how to do that role- look what happened to Curnow!!! Kreuzer will kick more goals than Casbolt too. There is no upside to Casbolt at all.

Drew Petrie and/or Brent Harvey would help with our your forward's development, but how many spots do you give up before it hurts not developing another youngster.
