I was born in October 1946 - sat on my mum's knee the next year at the age of 11 months and listened to fred Stafford kick a goal with 15 seconds to go to beat the bombers by a point.
my eldest son david was born in December 1975 and less than 4 years later we won the 1979 flag
my only daughter jane was born September 1978 and twelve months later she saw the 1979 flag
youngest son jack (my avatar) was born 13 September 1995 and watched the last quarter of the 1995 premiership at two weeks of age.
Fours year windows ......................
my first grandchild (janes little girl chloe) was born November 2013 - so 2017 might be a bit close, BUT
first grandson (davids little fella) born December 2015 .................so 2018 is the four-year window...........

BTW both grandkids are paid-up members................go blues

My son had his head cut off after the 1979 GF win if you recall.
I was worried he might not survive to see another one but we' did OK for a while there afterwards.
Perhaps we need a new photographer.

BB knows the story.

So you won't be traumatized, I will tell you it.

We were living in Sydney at the time and BB and his family and the Somberos were watching the game at the 2 Cav Officers' Mess.
After the game, I ran a home made CFC flag up the flagpole and we bolted for home.
We were celebrating the win in style and decided to take a photo with the kids in their Carlton gear.
My then wife took it and cutoff my son's head in the process, photographically speaking.
In those days of films, we didn't know until the shots were developed much later.

I was put out because there was always the possibility we would never win another flag and so we wouldn't get the chance for another such photo.

So it isn't as bad as it first seems.

Great photo. Pity about the decapitation.
