I'm of the opinion that we need to turn over the majority of our list. How many of the players that run out of the race each week are you passionate about following?!? I suspect most of you will say only weitering and the 2015 crop, Cripps and maybe boekhorst. I like murphy and would keep him at the club. Nonetheless, this is an alarming statistic and states how much our list is in dire straits...with that said, I echo the sentiments of posters stating for the benefits of a premiership carton team, SOS should rebuild over the coming drafts. Remember the three P's folks, Planning, preparation and performance...HOPEFULLY the club has the planning part down pat and we as supporters can only wait in anticipation that the club recruits some future Carlton premiership players...it's about constantly asking oneself, who is part of the solution at the club. We have maybe at best, 10 players and the rest can go take a walk.
Bolton's blues will take a while to establish but you must agree that it will be worth the wait.
I won't be going away in a hurry...

Think we missed the bus on both Gibbs and Kruezer.
Neither of them will net us first rounders.

If Lachie got us one, I'm sure the others could.

Gibbs 100% but maybe not a top 10. If Kreuzer plays most games and does OK then he would scrape in for a late 1st rounder.

Gibbs no problems for a pick 5 to 10 and Kruezer 10 to 15 should be achievable after completing this season.
Place either of these players in a Top 6 team and just watch them standout they are good players and we need to get due compensation otherwise keep them.
Do the courageous thing SOS but please no more Chris Yarran shambles he was sacrificed.
Just watch him star by mid season.

SOS would have to be some kind of witch doctor to get pick 10-15 for Kruezer!

If Gibbs can get us a 1st rounder this year than id be happy.
Pick 10 - 15ish would satisfy me.

From Gibbs, i think we've seen his best....... and it's really only been mediocre. And perhaps that's our fault. Going back from when Dennis started him as a bloody full back........

If Carlisle (a drug junky, cheat and can't play) can command a top 5 then we should get a top 3 for both Gibbs and Krooze.

Spot on Clayman, enough of sacrificing our top talent, Gibbs should attract pick 5 to 10 pending on who needs him. As for Kreuzer if he gets through the season and plays evey gane 10 to 15 should be attenable. This draft is midfield rich, so stock up with with mids and shop around for a quality tall Forward target ready to go , I'd be happy to use next years 1st rounder we're desperate.

The clubs with academy kids will have to trade players to get high picks as they did last year. In a sense it is a good time to be looking to trade players from those clubs and that is exactly why the AFL gave them so many picks. We got several players from GWS for not much in return and if one or two of them work out, it's a win for us. Plowman looks like he can play. Sumner? The trades with Adeade that were part of the Menzel deal might net us a couple of decent players.

We need to be active traders trying to trade into the top twenty as we did last year. Whether we trade Gibbs or Kreuzer or Everitt or Touhy will be decided much later in the year by SOS and Bolton. Gibbs at Geelong or Hawthorn or even Adelaide would possibly win a flag and that's OK by me if we can use his worth and a later pick to trade up to a top ten pick. It didn't even slow Geelong dwon to lose Ablett. Hawks haven't even missed Franklin. Adelaide are already better than they were with Dangerfield in the team. You can and should consider trading your best player if you can get a long term player in return. But Murphy shouldn't go. You don't trade your captain. He might walk but you don't offer him up. Touhy is a good average player but not hard to replace. If he goes we should get something for him. The important thing is to trade for value and draft picks and maybe try for a big fish in the free agency in a year or so.

It's equally important to retain players. It's all very well to get them in the draft but it isn't worth much if they come to a place with a shit culture and no hope of ever winning. That's Bolton's job. Create the culture and start to win a few games. Otherwise we get players like Gibbs who are potential superstars but look as though they are playing only for the money and not for their team mates.

If we get good value from some of our current crop and pick and trade well, I am a little more optimistic than Jimmae. I would like to think that we can jump pretty quickly as did WCE. Time is running out for some of us!

Agree. Bulldogs look better once they lost Griffen and Cooney.

Gibbs would be great playing across HB for the Crows.

If we can get a first round pick for him then we should trade.

He'd be a great player in a very good side. Any team finishing top six would easily offer a first round for him.

In theory yes, but not in reality.

Gibbs has virtually got a man bun. = pick 15-20 tops

Kruezer 25-35

If Gibbs is prepared to hold onto the man bun for the start of trade week but be prepared to lose it during negotiations we may be able to use its removal as a sweetener to get a deal over the line.
It could work in our favour.

What about a hipster beard, what does that get us

I'm also prepared to have him front up in a scarf with a Parisian knot as a sweetener

Every week there's a highlights package of Fev, Betts & Garlett running amok. Fev with the solid leading into space and going back with confidence and nailing it from anywhere and the freakish talents of the small fwds. Makes me angry how we let such talent go.

To be fair, if Fev was there in 2011 I reckon we would have been very close. Sliding door moment....

Correct decision to turf him though
