We need Jacksch and Plowman to be regulars by the end of the year. We need Harry Mckay and Charlie Curnow to also have made significant steps.

Then we can concentrate on revamping the midfield. So for me, Jacksh must come in this week if he gets through today.

My big worry is Buckley, he is in poor form. Might be time to give him a settled position and that might be Simpson's position. Give Simmo some time forward before he retires.

Just went to check the AFL site that this game wouldn't be shown in Sydney, giving me a reprieve from the agony of watching our rabble in its early stages of becoming a football team. Of course, it will not.

I then checked further and saw that aside from games against Sydney sides, the only games left for Carlton on Sydney TV are Drugcheats in round 6 and Collingwood in round 14. That's it! They showed our season-opener against Richmond, Gold Coast last nght, but from here on out it's looking barren. In previous years we've featured most weeks - probably 14 or 15 live games on Sydney TV every year. I guess the penny has dropped with broadcasters; we just aren't worthy of the attention. They're not even showing our first match-up with the Pies. Collingwood v. Carlton at the 'G, and it's not on TV. Inconceivable!

73% game time, I don't think he's getting enough of a run at wing/HF to do damage.

Had a good first half, then was held out of it for huge chunks of the third quarter. Combine that with 74% from Murphy, 75% from Kreuzer, 72% from Phillips, 66% from Whiley and 64% from Charlie due to his injury, and we drained our numbers advantage on the bench.

Jamison playing 81% when we needed him in defence and Kerridge playing 92% as a clearance midfielder is ridiculous.

Sorry, Ita, but we suck. at this rate with our senior players offering zero protection to our best assets (cripps & weiters) it's when we fry them, not if.

Don't lose sight of the fact that they'll be coming off a draining game v Hawks and could be a little mentally drained for this one. The old mental "let down" theory is very likely to be in play. The fact that we've played two tough games in a row should at least have us properly mentally prepared.

Of course it won't give us a win, but it may keep the loss to under 6 goals hopefully.

Just want KJ in the team and fwd this week, Phillips out for balance is a must. Kreuzer/Cas to share the ruck work. Unless Cunningham blitzes today, just can't see how he'd be ready for this lot.

Please, please, spare me the "we're gunna get creamed posts"... most of us are enlightened adults around here and we've cleverly worked out that this game will be flowering tough one to win.

I'd like to see DVR get a game.

He's getting closer, but he had 6 touches in a half before exploding in the third term

At the risk of furthering the joke I've just made, he needs to build some stamina

Dick, DVR and Cuningham probably deserve an opportunity after today's VFL game.

Not sure where we'd drop Dick into the team as we need run, which pushing Docherty up into midfield won't really provide a great deal of.

Docherty's also putting in some Easton Wood type efforts for us at the moment, so I'd prefer him to stick to that and we build around it. Didn't stop him getting plenty of the football.

DVR on the wing/HF linking up sounds great, was hoping Smith would show something but Gallucci might be an option too based on his first half efforts.

In: DVR, Walker, Cuningham
Out: Rowe, Phillips, Whiley

Jim, all I want is 22 competitive players willing to accept physicality.
Don't care about roles or positions at the moment.
Bolton needs to set a standard re competitiveness

Pretty sure that standard was set last night, and the names I'm putting up were found wanting

Gibbs, Murphy and Kreuzer slogged it out far more than those three

Did I miss anyone else?

We have to drop one of Kreuzer/Phillips and bring in someone smaller for more mobility/run

We have to drop Rowe , he kills us over and over again

I'd like to cut deeper but we dont have the depth of midfield talent to bring much in.

2 talls out, 2 'smalls' in

Walker and Cunningham

Murphy's going alright.

Gibbs needs the ultimatum from Bolton.

Kreuzer needs to focus on marking and linking up around the ground using his mobility rather than getting in an under. Basics for a follower.
