The guys are trying but we are a long way off it.

At least 5 quick, skilled players who can help move the footy.

Too one paced and soooooooo unfit still.

We didnt take the game on. No run and carry
Kreuzer Rowe and Phillips were terrible
Drop Phillips . Levi can support
Please dont come on here and post about Everitt. He is about the best forward as a package that we have.
Not Saying much but he can kick, mark and most importantly creates movement in there
Boy do we miss Walker

Did Simpson have an interrupted pre-season or something? Can't believe he has regressed so much in a year due to age alone. Maybe he's depressed - I know I would be after playing a dozen or more years with this tired and battered old club.

On the upside, Weitering looks a champion in the making and Cripps showed character to emerge from the worst half I've ever seen him play to become a force in the third quarter. Curnow Sr. showed a lot of heart and Jr. showed flashes of talent.

I can sympathise with Gibbs's exasperation at our complete uselessness in attack; it really is about a bad a forward line as you'll ever see in the AFL. One spearhead, who's a 50:50 proposition at best when taking set shots from 20 minutes. The replays of his kicking are cringeworthy. I mean, any kid who grew up in Victoria (or SA, WA or Tas) knows how to drop a @#$%&! Sherrin onto his foot. There is no excuse for not being capable of this most fundamentally @#$%&! obvious part of footballing mechanics. It's like a NBA player who only shoots 30% from the free throw line - it's your full-time profession, just bloody learn to do it. In fact no, it's worse than a 30% free throw shooter, because at least shooting a free throw is a challenge of sorts - dropping a football on your foot just involves not being a complete @#$%&! dunce.

Will not progress until most of what we ve got from the Ratten and Malthouse era are gone.

True about the kids but Malthouse pretty much got rid of Ratten's forward line

Eddie would be handy right now.

yeah ..... and with Eddie so would Waite, Garlett, Henderson, let's throw in a fit Yarran (all there when Malthouse started) ........ OK Josh Kennedy from the Ratten era ........ but hey it's best not to dwell on it, it's all about the future now

Bolton having an awful reality check now.

There is no point playing any of Casboult, Kreuzer or Phillips anywhere near the goals. Our worst forward line for at least 50 years that I've watched the Blues. Hope like hell that McKay and Silvagni can develop quickly.

We need numbers around contests. When the ball spilled out GC players were there to mop it up. Just like last week against the swans.

I still think our players are lazy. Flat footed and don't work hard.

We pressured the bejeezus out of the GC for most of the game, they just skipped past us.

Easy runs up the corridor, so we pushed them wide to make them run further for longer to deliver into their 50, they didn't slow down. It was ridiculous.

At this stage of the rebuild I don't think we have any small forwards either. As for tall forwards I assume you mean the rotating rucks.

I'd play Gibbs forward rest of the year. At least he can kick.

Walker being out has hurt us in the forward line and need Everitt back as well to help out whilst we wait for Harry McKay and young Silvagni to develop

Take some chill pills. We are looking and deciding who will be our A and B graders in 3-4 years time

From tonight you can lock
Weitering in as an A grader
We have already locked cripps in this spot

There are a few of the trade boys that might become B graders
Wright, Kerridge

Murphy, Docherty and Curnow is locked in as b graders

Charlie Curnow showed some glimpses

Cheer up, the plus tonight is Weitering, that is all I need. Most wont be there when the whips are cracking

I have to keep reminding myself of this, repeating it over and over like a deranged loon. But it's still hard to sit here and watch the team struggle to amass 40 points a game because some million-dollar-a-year messiah completely gutted our team and ruined an already destitute club for another decade.

Do what I do, watch the first quarter, make a few assessments from it and then go do something else. It's all about the draftees at this stage, it has to be.

Was at the Derby tonight so haven't seen a minute of our game.

From the sounds of it, don't need to rush to watch.

Just three rounds in and any enthusiasm I had for the year has largely evaporated.

I honestly wonder if our players get sick and @#$%&! tired of losing and basically being a laughing stock? I know I do.

I thought our pressure early was great and kept us in the game against a very skillful gold coast. They are a 5 goal better side with GAJ playing.
Our problem is that we cant keep our pressure up for 4 quarters, and when we stop the pressure, the other more skillful side cracks the game wide open, very quickly.
It is very taxing on young players to apply this level of pressure, and it is so important that when we have a chance to goal that these opportunities arent wasted, so that we get some value from all this effort. It must be very deflating applying all that pressure and then wasting the opportunities when they come. A lot of the misses are due to fatigue IMO

pretty funny huh prick

Everyday I wake up astounded that we drafted this hipster prick with our first rounder. When every other club pulls proper footballers out of their Christine Anu.

It isn't hard really. There's a country full of proper footballers each year. Draft them and not volleyballers.

You need to. You also need to write down notes about how the players and coach react to adversity. It got ragged in the last qtr but for the most part, they maintained the game plan, which shows that they still believe.

Just be patient. We locked in our 2nd genuine A grader for the future tonight.

Cripps and Weitering now
