No there are people more qualified and you brought up the communist system of processed filtered selection not me!
In just reinforcing what you brought up for all to comprehend
Don't take me as a fool my friend

Sorry - but that's not how Carlton works.

But the point is:

that is how it should or here I am agreeing with Synners again, stay in the doldrums.

Whether you believe it does or doesn't work that way it's how it should work is the point I'm making and a seismic shift on how it was working.

Jenkins may have been headhunted to join the board because of a lack of her specific skill set but if she'd put up her hand to join the board via the process you deem "doesn't work like that" then her skill sets and background would be analysed and a decision made to appoint her as a candidate. No?

It's a necessary step for good governance in practice in just about all western board rooms the world over (except in Panama, Virgin Islands etc  )

Problem is, no one wants to be scrutinised about their skill sets and background. But that's an issue for themselves, and clearly a point of reference where they feel if it's worth it or not.

Seismic shift? The only difference is that there's some sort of documented process. Other than that - same outcome.

You're problem here is you're not adding to discussion.
You have no ammo
You're directing everything at me.. Loll so of course I'll toss everything into your face.

You're almost sounding green with envy because I'm here and I'm making salient, accurate, thought provoking , intelligent, insightful points.!

This is not about running down the club buddy.. This board has already done that! The decision makers who have disemboweled what used to be great are now pretending they didn't do anything wrong

We're screaming for accountabilty on the field but ignoring in the board room?
What kind of example is that for culture?

Answer!

You're talking about the board in a thread about match day tactics.

Imagine if you will, a new poster coming on and reading this chicken scratch and coming up with a less acerbic adjective for it than 'schizophrenic'.

That's why I'm not properly engaging, you've decided to take a giant dump on several discussions, smear it around a bit, and then declare it to be genius by your own hand.

my youngest (21 this September) - yes he in my avatar in the '95 cup in February '96 here in Hobart - watched the last quarter of the '95 flag at two weeks of age - not yet on board like my two eldest are -

I was distracted away from the thread.

Good point jimmae.

I agree there's more to this year than a better game style. Good to have a woman on the Board. Good to see the players spirits up. Good to see players going in hard. Pity that the Swans mids have been programmed to beat up all opponents this year after a failed finals campaign derailed by injury, illness and Goodes

That'd be the ultimate time-wasting exercise for someone who isn't a member and hasn't seen a Carlton game in the flesh for over 2 years.

It's much easier (and enjoyable) standing outside the tent pissing in than it is being inside the tent pissing out.

Depends on the wind conditions, and how well you've fastened down the flap.

Then there are 22 years olds that as a 5 year old wore out my VHS copy of the 95 Grand Final and could recite the commentary verbatim.

He's itching to to add another Grand Final to his repertoire.

Its going to take time to start reversing the damage from that atrocious decision to appoint the coach whose name shall not be mentioned.

Reckon GC will thump us. Scary to think what the Bullies will do the week after.

You pay the price for dumb decisions.

Go Blues!

Haha, sounds exactly like my 6 year old son....he's probably watched the 95 GF 100 times. Runs around the house imitating plays from the game.

I have the box set, doesn't quite understand b&w tv so collectively watched them all crap loads of times but definitively gets bored the further they go back.

Add a bit of Cripps, Murphy, Weitering as sugar and he's solid as on the blues.

It's not that hard really peeps!!!

I still think that the club will not rise until such time that all those people involved in the tanking era are no longer at the club. This includes players , coaches administration and board
It created a culture that losing was acceptable

Yep. Before Malthouse, Gold Coast never thumped us.
