Btw kids having their 21sts have never seen a flag
Kids turning 15 have never seen a prelim but have seen four spoons with a massive chance for a fifth this year.

That's the reality of this club

yes synners, but even you must admit that there are now the types of players with the types of mindset and attitude this club has needed.

cripps, weitering, c curnow are the backbone of the new carlton, and with bolton being so strong on teaching, i think he will get rid of the old, negative, lazy players such as gibbs, and scarred players like unfotunately simpson, and breed a new successful club

but keep the glass half empty

But they're in our system
Ordinarily those kids would be at another club
If they come to Carlton Melbourne etc they're dead. Some might rise anyway..
Getting drafted by Carlton is the kiss of death to a young player!

Synbad has a bloody valid point! Don't walk around with closed eyes.
Bolton has a hell of a job in front of him and hopefully he keeps the young kids focused on the successful mindset. I'm keeping everything crossed that Trigg & SOS help him offfield because quite frankly I have lost faith in the others.

There's been a definite shift, and the faltering in the Sydney match was for 5 minutes at the end of the first half. They immediately responded after half time, but they couldn't keep up.

That's ok, they didn't stop trying, and so within the game they responded well to the challenge. There's clearly a momentum building up, any one can see that, now comes to real stuff where we see if it can be maintained under duress.

This week we face the Suns in probably the best form of their team's short history, and we need to see if we can respond to their pace and tackling pressure.

In order to change what's been happening. You must change why it's been happening
The board sets the tone in every organization.
They have had many years of setting the tone. That can't change the beast because that's who they are!
Try changing me or Dane or anybody else..

So what they do is because they know they can't accomplish, they outsource the tone
So it's Denis or Malthouse or Bolton or swann or trigg!
I'm sorry! It's the board that's going to set the tone for the football club
Including staff
Players
Supporters
Sponsorships
Memberships
Care factor etc

Show me a horribly run football club that's won a flag and I'll show you a miracle

Yes we might make the eight again ala Richmond
No we will never be a serious contender and terrify the competition

This cannot be changed by SOSs two hats and Bolton!

Say what you like

Big game this week Jimmae. We need a win with Bulldogs next week. The heads will drop soon if we don't.

And the board set a new tone with hiring Trigg and telling him to do peel everything back and rebuild with a plan.

Then they hired Bolton, peeled everything back, consulted and enacted a plan.

Then Bolton and SOS peeled back the playing group, traded out some value for what they saw as an aggregate improvement, and they executed the plan further at the national draft.

Now, before the dust has really even settled, with a clear change in mentality on the field as a result, you're declaring it's doomsday all over again. You're firing your shots too early mate, there's no sign of it, and there's no sign of incompetence. The only one creating a dire situation is you, and your mates, and anyone who is listening to you, putting pressure on the club instead of offering constructive criticism. The hard truth is, you have none; you haven't had any for quite some time. Go think on that, and when you can come back with something worthwhile, everyone here, and everyone at the club will happily embrace you.

The problem is you want to be rewarded for that, and quite lavishly. It's all about you, and that's your problem.

Only amongst the rabble. We've gone from playing a somewhat-depleted top 8 team, to likely top 2 team, to a team on the rise looking for a spot in the 8, to a team looking for a spot in the top 4.

The Suns are the only team we would have been expected to beat in pre-season, and that expectation has shifted.

The 'rabble' are what keeps this club financially viable and running.

I consider the 'rabble' to be a minority viewpoint of the supporter base. Most have realistic expectations, and they're being met so far.

It's disappointing to not win, but there's no mental hurdles appearing in the way the side plays.

You have to be joking, right? Tell you what, Jimmae - let's see what happens to the team in 2 or 3 weeks time after we lose our 1st 5 games then!! I think we play the druggies week 6. We can come back and talk about the mindset at week 6, if we haven't won yet!

I actually view the shills as the rabble.
Those of us that are realistic know that this club is sunk
Those that clutch to straws the tiniest of straws in a dysfunctional environment calling realists the rabble are the rabble

That's what I think jim!

:)

It's actually not financially viable and harshly running

I am no apologist for jimmae but he is the only one making sense here. In one off season and two games in, how much of a turn around do you guys want?

Haven't you seen 'the sprouts'.

McKay, Cuningham and SOS jnr still to debut

Don't you think Bolton is the right coach.

Don't you think the attitude has changed.

Don't you think the dead wood or most of it was cleared.

Don't you think the game plan has changed for the better.

How much can be done in a short time.

Even the Greeks didn't come from nowhere Synners.

I hope synners was banned because it would be bloody disappointing if he's come back on to the board in a holier than thou attitude after we've lost 2 games we were never expected to win.

The club has been transparent with the supporters and done what most have been asking for in the last 15 years by doing it the hard way.

Weird breed are Carlton supporters

Hard to expect miracles after the devastation of our club by the coach whose name shall not be mentioned.

The club isn't transparent at all
For instance when is the 66 game rebuild begin and what's expected on expiry?
Getting a coach through a process when only two coaches were realistically available doesn't mean transparency loll
What's transparent these days?

Let's put it Synners in charge, then set up a trust fund for when he implodes the football club

He shuts up, gets his turn in the sandpit to play with his toys, and realises what an asshole he's been.

This is what your 20s were supposed to be for Synners.

Implodes the football club?
How old are you jim? Rumors are you're probably too young to remember this football club for what it was before it was imploded

We passed the bag around and each person threw in an age.. Oldest was thirty
. youngest was 15 but that was me being cheeky!
So care to see which one of us gets the free tatts ticket? Losers pitch in

You're not going to tell me I won!
Last time we did that I also won a massive win.
Closest to the pin that day was at the northern hotel against port.
Was rattens last year and port were really crap! We won our first three in a row and had hit a bumpy patch

I alone tipped us to lose and won the scoop

The ripper guy that I am bought it so back in beers for the boys.
Back then everybody was in disbelief. How could we have lost?
Today it's no big deal! Everybody is immune and desensitized to the genocide on firstly pride and then came hope on the massive mountain of prestige glory and victories which was this football club
And you're saying I would implode it,?

I have a grouse/ ace plan on what I would do if I had the power

Would give us A no brainer path to at least meaningfully work our way back on the very long road to realistic competitiveness and regain the massive ground we have lost with these clowns
