I think this is the most succinct, on topic and "normal" post I have ever read from Synbad in 15 years.

So he came in for a taste and then comes in for anther in a few weeks time?
Look he's not ready but he plays with audacity.. And a kid that plays with audacity won't be overwhelmed per say.
He will learn more in the firsts with a good four week block of games than he will in the seconds

Agree 100%
Best way to harden him up

Development wise I don't think it will make much difference either way. If Walker's not fit then Curnow can stay in. Similarly if we dropped Everitt there's a place for Curnow, as there would be if we dropped White and played Everitt back. For the sake of team balance I'd prefer not to play all of Everitt, Walker and Curnow forward though.

Curnow already given the chance should play five games straight.. Or he shouldn't have been in at all.
He might not swim but he won't sink

There nothing in the vfl for him.

I tend to aggree.

I was arguing that he shouldn't have played in the firsts at all until at least 3 or 4 games in the VFL........ but they brought him in nonetheless....... may as well give him a shot for 3 or 4 games in the seniors now.

wow, a sensible post, well done

i agree. this is what the last mug did,and it shattered confidence and didnt give the youngsters a chance to adapt.

either play the kids for a few consecutive games and let them get the hang of the speed and ferocity, or dont play them at all

Nobody can argue that maybe it wasn't or was too early
But he is in

There's nothing going on in the reserves
Nobody is being taught the finer points of football excellence there

Needs to keep him where he might

Unless he's totally being demoralized
Hard to see that happening with Charlie

In can see with who's in and out over the years

No wait! This year it's different we have josh Fraser..

Last year was Luke Webster ..
So we thought Luke was good and he wasn't that good.. Now it's Fraser who's good.
How long we keeping this guy Jim? Two years or wait and see?
If it's still a case of wait and see how he goes.
I might be wrong but I'm using the context of a pathetic club as my marker!
What context are you using?

If the Suns game is set up from a hard running backline then they need to be stopped by running players.
If the HB line breaks lines and finds easy delivery into their forwardline they have a 200cm 100 kg monster waiting to devour anything that comes his way.

Who is going body on body against Lynch?
Jamo isn't strong enough imo. He's done and just filling in imo.
Weitering isn't big enough and his role should continue to be intercepting.
Its Rowe!!

I was thinking that dropping Rowe, White and Lamb would give us more run with the likes of Byrne, Dick and Walker (despite having the feeling Walker is just about finished). I think Walker gives us more than lamb unless Lamb can contain a running HB, which he is more likely than Walker.

Its an interesting one.

Curnow to take Ablett
Cripps and Gibbs to get the nut out to runners like Murphy, Boekhurst.
Simpson may prove everyone wrong and bring back to life the form we know he can and has done in the past after a slow start. We need him.

But who is going to kick our goals? I think Charlie is a natural goal kicker and if Walker plays there's two. Both tall 3rd talls.

We can win this.

I didn't like the way we played in the VFL under Malthouse, so please don't put words in my mouth regarding Webster.

Just get some pace and attacking instinct into the side and give them a license to just try and create something which pressures the opposition a little bit.

Byrne Buckley Cuningham in.
Vanilla out.

Gibbs is useless as a rover getting first possession....he just hates contact in there. It's one of the reasons the swans belted our midfield.

Half forward for Gibbs to use his sublime kicking

Gold Coast is purring nicely , abundantly skilled , great structure and game plan, so as with the Swans last week, let's not expect miracles just yet.
I'd like to see more of the new positive attitude and 100% commitment form whomever puts on the jumper on Saturday. I 'm guessing we'll get within 20 to 30 pts. There will be many honorable loses this year, but that's fine.
We're taking small steps it takes a heap of patience, Bolton will put us on the right path gradually obstacles will be removed.
We're coming from a very long way back with limited assests.

Didn't deserve to be dropped in the first place when we needed pace further up the field.
