Why on earth would we trade Casboult but get Tomlinson??

You ideally want Casboult and Tomlinson in the same forward line.

To trade a forward for a forward is dumb

Um...because Casboult is out of contract and the decision on whether he stays or not is up to him. We can't hold a gun to his head and tell him to stay against his own wishes. We are the Carlton Football Club, not the Carlton Crew criminal organization.

Sorry Jimmae, but you're over rating Everitt's trade value. Mid-late second round is where I see it.

We're in a good position with Casboult. If the compensation pick is too good to refuse then you let him go, if it's fair compensation then you think long and hard and if the compensation isn't up to scratch then that's a result of him only receiving a moderate contract offer which we'll have no issues matching.

Don't think Casboult is a free agent?? pretty sure our free agents are Armfield and Simmo. So if we get rid of Casboult it will be a pick coming from a trade not compensation.

Well picked up mate. I'll do my own research before running with info from here again.

I'm not sure how we can trade him given the lack of talent to replace him. There's nobody on our list ready to replicate his role in 2017. I'd expect to hold on to him until his free agency and then consider our options/compensation.

Will be tough to get tomlinson given the fact he has 2 years left on a contract GWS dont have to trade him and i doubt they would given the fact there gonna have to get rid of McCarthy.

Casboult for Tomlinson would be a great deal tho.

Should have also added that the Giants want points for McCreadie, a highly touted KPD. Not to mention they also have Patton on their list too.

I've said it before, but we should be doing everything we can to get Tom Lynch from GC.
Out of contract, will most likely be GC's next Captain unless someone can entice him home

He would be the icing in our spine.. Weiters back, Cripps in the middle and Lynch forward..
Would love a player of weit/crippas caliber up forward to run the show there.. That is No1 on my wish list.

Might want to start recruiting some midfielders to kick to all these forwards

Well we had no issues getting it inside 50 on Thursday night.
It was our conversion that killed us.

Levi should have kicked two, but other than that it was more how we did at ground level; we got smashed.

Not that many of the entries helped with that

Levi should have kicked 3
Walker, Murph, Graham, Wright all missed gettable shots.
Convert 50% of those and we wins by 2 goals.
We had more marks inside 50 than the Tigers

We had enough set shots that our lack of ground level conversion shouldn't have mattered.

Convert 50% of those and we win by nearly 4 goals.

Can't pick at every miss, but you can look at how we had 57 inside 50s for 18 marks, took 23 shots and gave up 38 rebound 50s to Richmond players.

To be clear, that means we only scored once from a ground ball inside 50 (assuming we didn't get a turnover from their kick out and scored, which I don't recall).

This is a "what the @#$%&! are our small forwards doing" spiel.

Wright kicked 3, so he gets a pass. I get that they're moneyballing it a bit by trying to guarantee shots and prevent easy scores the other way, but the ball hit the deck nearly 40 times and we kicked one score from it.

Plowman / Hurley / Docherty & Weitering........ That could (potentially) be a very hard defence to beat!

I like the sound of that.

All our 'senior' players are more or less cooked.

Just can't sustain a clean and disciplined 4 qtr effort and often fade out or cough up turnovers.

Interesting to again see how ruthless SOS will be at the end of this looooong year..... ?

It's a valid question. If we're serious about this full reset, what value can we still expect from 'heart and soul' players who's best is either behind them, or unlikely to be realised here? It will be an interesting offseason.
