Harsh on Rowe IMO, and to a lesser extent Buckley, but great to see Charlie get his debut.

A little more running power brought in on the aggregate, but I'm struggling to see a decent matchup for White; he's going to get carved on their small/medium forwards and resting mids.

Wright, Thomas and Boekhorst are going to have to provide a lot of the forward pressure but at least we can afford to sit a deeper target in the forward line now and really stretch defences through Everitt and Curnow leading up the wing and doubling back to the 50. Charlie in particular will be a threat from outside 50 and will put in a few minutes each quarter at the forward stoppages.

White playing that last man in the zone would have more agility than Rowe who was exposed greatly last time against Sydney. Vickery caught Rowe out a few times as well.

Once Plowman is back he will take over from White and we'll have our best back 6 IMO. Byrne maybe the addition.

Not harsh on Rowe at all, we have to move on from him ASAP. Honest footballer, good for depth but not good enough to be best 22 every week.

I think we're asking a lot Weitering with this line up, when he would have been perfect in the role White has been earmarked for, and Rowe would have given a good contest on the resting ruck.

I'm just happy that Sam Reid isn't playing because it seems we'd have stuck with 4 tall defenders rather than bring in Byrne to play off Towers.

dont worry about it , the ball will be locked in our forward half most of the time

wont be too many contests where rowe would be missed

curnow - good
daisy is a political selection for the boards benefit - daisy is finished and cannot kick- i say again - pay his contract and get him out of the joint sos
rowe - will be moved on years end hopefully
buckley - i called it - he has no tricks - he will be on the table if he cant get any tricks as a small forward
next jamison and white....
on sunday you will see what a 1st class recruiter kinnear beatson is and why the swans are making a tilt for a premiership

Ah yes, recruitment.

"With their first pick in the draft, the Swans select, the bloke they've been grooming for a senior role for 5 years."

I don't think Bolts is selecting Thomas too make the board happy.

If he was worried about that shit he wouldn't have canned that open training session and picked an under strength side for the NAB challenge game v the Bombers at PP.

The Swans have cheesed so many players through free agency, academies, category B and international rookies of late, all of which until very recently required little in the way of compensation.

2011 and 2012, the Swans had more 'luck' with their rookie list than the national draft, unless you count Membrey and Dick being successful given they both walked.

They also have a weak forward line structure if Buddy goes down, which is underpinned by how many ruck/forwards hybrids they have on their list.

How is that good recruitment?

I'd have backed Bucks in for his run and line breaking ability. Rather him than vanilla Graham.

Good to see Charlie in. Could be anything this kid.

I agree we need to move on from Rowe but reckon he was better against Richmond and played better than White
Not sure what the club continues to see in white but he keeps getting a game whether it be malt house Barker or Bolton
Still hope Plowman takes over from him soon

Byrne unlucky on form IMO.

I would have gone-
In: Byrne, Thomas
Out: Buckley, White

Best wishes Charlie. Tough gig first up.....
