And only the second player in the #42 jumper to get there.

Who was the other one?

He will come to me soon enough.

So your blaming Sticks and Swann for giving a contract to a key defender when there is no one to take his place. Is that your complaint?

given that you have asked the question - yes..in part ...henderson left under the new Pres and ceo - we had no recruitment, development and list management under the sticks swan bear regime - jamisons should have only got 1 year at the time - we are still being punished for the key position mitchell McCarthy and Watson recruitment and development failures - and hendo leaving as well...
thats why we need to trade a 1st round for a 24 year old A grade key defender - if we can get one

Not too sure about this. AFL stats show Carlton 41 hitouts, Richmond 33 hitouts. Did their rucks do more score board damage than Carlton's?
Still like to Gorringe get a chance early in the season.

Other than his kicking for goal ... I thought Casboult played pretty well. Maybe its just my rose coloured glasses. Also ... the second half of last year his kicking for goal was good. I don't see any point in dropping him when other players made bad mistakes as well. If you want to condemn Casboult for his mistakes you have to first consider those who were worse. In my eyes White was terrible with both his skills and his decision making. I would definitely bring Byrne in for White.

As much as I would like to see Buckley in the side ... he was very poor and should be replaced with Daisy.

Got to say I am not a big fan of Phillips ... he was ok ... borderline as to whether we swap him for Gorringe or Jacksch (Levi to help Kreuz).

Jamo is at an all time low ... not sure we can afford to keep carrying him and Rowe. At the moment Rowe is marginally better which does not say a lot for Jamo.

So:

Out: White Buckley Jamison
In: Byrne Daisy Jacksch

On Notice: Phillips Rowe

Phillips beat hampson at taps from my observation
Good potential to take pack marks more than kruezer
You dont drop a 1st game player unless you want to wreck his confidence..hes the future as sos got him...

Happy to see Phillips have a few games ...

I am really concerned about Jamo tho. Hopefully just a form lapse and not the end of his career.

jamo was finished 2 years ago - blind loyalty with a new contract kept him there by swan and sticks just before the latter 2 left

Agree - Jammo is done....and sadly, so is Simmo. The game has passed these guy by.

I am concerned that Jammo might be finished ... but can't buy the one about Simpson (31 possessions and one of our best against Richmond).

Okay wise guy. Brisbane and GWS have academy players they need. So they need picks for a points system to use on their player(s). Chances are we could get someone from one of those clubs where they can play for us.

I am of the view that a Ruckman's influence on a game is overrated. These days when they get a lot of tap outs, the opposition midfielders just rove to them. If a midfield is on fire it does not matter who gets the tap. When they are mobile and can take a few marks around the ground then their value increases. I still reckon we should just run with Kreuz and let Levi help out when it goes forward.

I think Simpson can play another few years, ala boomer Harvey. Durable, similar body type, always fit, should be good for another 3 years or so if you ask me!

I'm sure our opponents will love Simpson playing a few more years, he normally finds them with his errant disposal.

Went at 75% DE on Thursday night and 80% last year. As a comparison Goddard who is considered an elite user went at 77% last year.

He's averaged 22 games a year for the last 10 and has been a fantastic servant of the club during that time. If we can squeeze a few more years out of him then we should.

Having said all that, don't let stats get in the way of your bagging though.

It ain't just how many you get but what you do with them.

The more talent we can get rid of the better we will be.

Betts
Waite
Garlett
etc.

Get rid of Murphy Gibbs Simpson as well. We are bound to be a better side.

DON'T hold on to talented players ... thats the way forward!
