I don't think I'd make any changes this week, but I would play Buckley behind the ball and Simpson as our defensive half-forward.

Simmo is a poor kick for goal and Buckley struggles to find the footy. Sorry BC but I don't like either of those suggestions.
I'd bring Byrne in. In fact, I wanted him in this week. He runs and carries, he creates and he is an elite user. I'd be happier to see Simpson play as the defensive winger, with Byrne as a running defender.
I'd also drop White. With Jamison, Rowe and Weitering, we have enough height in defence. I'd rather Curnow or Jaksch as forward options or Whiley as midfield cover for Cripps. The last thing we want to do is burn Cripps out. "Resting" him on the wing is ridiculous.

Wouldn't mind Simpson staying back and moving Tuohy on the wing especially if Byrne comes in down back.

Thomas will come straight back in. Other than that I wouldn't expect too many unforced changes.

I'm guessing that the MC will stick with the more experienced borderline players for a few more games - maybe until after round 5 when we commence a run of seven consecutive games in Melbourne.

Byrne and Charlie Curnow look to be the next two likely at this stage, but several others could come into consideration in the next few weeks particularly as it looks like the NB side is going to play a similar style of football to the seniors.

We will see increasing pressure on the bottom six positions as more youngsters develop and start to demand consideration.

I think we need Byrnes pace and we can afford to drop white although Everitt is lucky to survive cull

Buckley won't get dropped this week. Take that to the Pyramid Building Society and bank it

Yes, verbs...but how many of those 22 will he play?...he has next week to state his case I suspect. We will find out a lot about bolts come selection this week. We may not a Tom Hawkins at the club but jones, KJ, etc are breathing down his neck. C. Curnow may get a game next week. We won't beat the swans, so perhaps play another youngster...

Incredible how a first gamer like JW can show up a 60 gamer like White for lack of composure

22 weeks from his 26th birthday or 22 weeks from his 27th birthday?

Cool Runnings is a little confused on which of these he's just celebrated.

No idea BlueJean, that was just 99Prelim trying to pass off their opinion as mine. In my opinion he's only 22 years old.

I reckon it might take most of the season for us to find the right combination of talls. Jaksch & Gorringe showed a bit in the VFL, so did Jones (shock, horror). At the other end, JGM looked promising. And C Curnow, McKay & Foster didn't play yesterday. Not all of that lot will make it, but at least we have KP stocks coming through and hopefully we find a combination that works.

This week, I'd stick with Jamo, Rowe & Weitering in defence and Casboult forward + Kreuzer/Phillips as ruck-forwards.

Jaksch is the next cab off the rank IMO, but I'd like to see him string a few strong VFL games together first. Pick him when his fitness and confidence has built some more.

In: Byrne, Thomas
Out: Buckley, White

It could easily be Everitt out instead of White. I don't have confidence in Everitt to stand up when the pressure is on. Byrne was very impressive in the first half of the VFL game yesterday. Play him.

Thomas for Buckley. Young Bucks will get more opportunities.

B: Tuohy Jamo Weitering
HB: Simmo Rowe Docherty
C: Boekhorst Cripps Thomas
HF: Graham Casboult Everitt
F: Wright Walker Kerridge

R: Kreuzer Gibbs Murphy

Inter: Byrne, E Curnow, Lamb, Phillips
