I saw the past and future tonight

if we punished the other side with goals for all our hard effort we would have won

endeavour was there-

our club needs to learn to win - we needed the first goal in the last- but didnt happen

The mids were serviceable but the defenders and forwards were woeful

Whose finished: that is, we must find good replacements as fast as possible:

casboult - his kicking is digraceful and must be delisted as fast as possible
rowe
jamison
simpson
touhey
everitt - dropped mark in last for a key moment
buckley - he has no tricks
kruezer
white

gems
cripps - punched up all night
weitering - does not panic-
wright
phillips
kerriage - dont blame him for mistake in last

good
jed lamb

undecided
boekhurst
docherty
graham

gibbs ok but doesn't punish opposition sides enough
murphy - good - his body is looking sore already

Made Tiges look like top 12 side. But Casboult cost us. I have confidence that Bolts will cut him now. Terrible.

Went to game. My observations :

Tiges are shit.
Should have won.
Casboult is poison. Must be his last game ever. Joke.
If we persist with Levi we are a comedy act.

ditto.

Pros:

Best footy I've seen us play for some time. The ball movement was sensational at times. Great not to embarrass ourselves in front of the big audience like we have in recent years.
Managed to kick 11 goals. Actually got 7 goals out of our forwards.
Great effort by the midfield. Not only to win the ball, but to hit the scoreboard.
Fantastic efforts by Cripps and Murphy, especially after limited preparations.
Gibbs and Docherty were excellent.
Terrific first up effort by the new guys: Wright, Kerridge, Lamb, Phillips and Weitering.
Really happy with the continuing good form of Graham and Boekhorst.
Actually thought Rowe was pretty good.
Reduced interchanges. Makes for a far better spectacle. Hope the AFL keeps bringing the numbers down.

Cons:

Conceding easy goals from stupid frees and 50 metre penalties.
Tackling dropped off as the game went on.
Thought Jamo was a little disappointing.
Casboult's kicking for goal.

Whilst White's errors at the end of the second were critical, we need to look at the play before and Simpson for all his good was culpable for a shitty one arm attempt to tackle. Simpson made a number of crucial errors which as a senior member of the team are unacceptable. Days are numbered. Before you all start badgering me....yeah, he's been invaluable

Just home from the game and like most others very proud of the effort in a game that we should/could have won.
Casboult is a liability at present but we have nothing else.

Also let's sort out the cheer squad behind goals. Looks deplorable

If we are truly in reset mode then time to move Simpson, White, Everitt, Jamieson on

I agree 100% about Levi and the comments made above. But he is a good target and he can bring the ball to ground. How did you guys assess Wright tonight? What about AW's game?

Thought Kerridges inside 50 turnover in the second was a big game turner.

Yep just got home as well. Gutted.
You just can't make errors like that at this level and expect to win games.
Unfortunately the Casboult miss in the last quarter in front of goals killed the contest. We just dropped our collective heads.
I'm not going to name names - pretty sure people know who they are - but some, in particular midfielders, certainly know how to butcher it and others have a fear for the contest!!!!
Gutted.

A lot to like tonight. In the end, very disappointing to lose. Heartbreaking even.

Hard to look past those chances we blew early in the last. For a fleeting moment thought we were home.... :donk: :banghead:

Just hope that this is not a one off and that we can play like this consistently.

You must be disappointed MF.

No 8 goal smashing and hovercraft still in pieces.

If you told me the score before the game, I would have taken it... But actually I felt that was a missed chance.

Definitely a tick for Bolton. Can't remember the last time I felt that enthusiastic about how we were playing the game.

Pros
Cripps
Weitering
Boekhurst

I thought all the first gamers were a tick, and probably pleased Bolts.
Kerridge killed us at times with his disposal, but he did a tonne of work.
Wright and Lamb did enough for another game.
Phillips doesn't look like a hidden gem, but is no downgrade on Wood.

Cons
Casboult. Can't believe how we have let Andy 'teflon' McKay paint us into this corner where we are totally dependent on him.
Buckley. I think a ceiling is starting to form.
Everritt. Expect more from him at this point.
Jamo and Simmo - approaching the end. They weren't that bad, but it's just sad to see them declining a bit.

We should win 6 games this year.
Target should be 8+

I think Rioli is a sleeper, definitely looks like a good value pick.
Richmond need Delidio. But even without him I thought they should have been much better. They won't finish top 4
