I'd pick Lamb if it were me. Tried his guts out v Swans, and gives the HS "Lamb to the slaughter" as a Friday headline

Didn't Wayne Harmes belt Phil Carmen in his first game in a massive brawl on the press box wing?

If he did, that'd have to be worth including.

Nah - that was the 1978 Semi-Final. Harmes debuted late in '77.

Indeed. You needed excellent peripheral vision. I would argue that these part-timers had 10 times the peripheral vision of current day professionals.

Yep. You whacked a bloke, then had a beer with him after the game. We've regressed as a society.

Not necessarily - you have a beer with them now and you get carte blanche to inject yourself with steroids.

Not that one. Princes Park under the press box. Massive brawl and Harmes went in after Carmen. I remember it well. Just can't remember if it was his debut.

8 debuts by Round 4.... surpasses even 2015 where 7 new players had been picked...

http://www.blueseum.org/Debuts+2015+to+2019

I guess the recent comparison would be 2004 - the great turnover year under Pagan - where 10 Blues had debuted by ROund 4 (9 in ROund 1):

8 debuts including 5 AFL debuts by Round 4..... definitely some chances for senior games out there for performance etc.

Q. How many debuts did we have at this stage last year?

Teddy Whitten took that a step further. Knock them out then drive then to hospital after the game..lol.

Yes, the after game had players of both sides having a beer after they smashed the crap out of each other, together with the umpires. Umpires were alot closer to the players in those days. Remember Glenn James being invited to the Carlton Best and Fairest in 1982 and mingling like they all were lifetime mates.
