I give bolts 10/10 so far for preparation as a coach. I'm intrigued to see how he goes as game day coach.

I still shudder at MMs game day tactics

Although Gibbs ball use in the pre-season was pretty bad.

Gibbs is an outside mid and an average one at that - he has never been an inside mid

Ffs really!
Looks like Bryce is the next one on the chopping block!

Got to say we do hear a lot of nonsense about Bryce. He's not the best player in the team but he is polished ... Friday was not his best ... but you know I re-watched and he did some nice things as well. The ball was slippery and when he missed it he went back and recovered. He is in our top 5 or 6 and its quite laughable the way he is lambasted. His best is very good.

Betts is too money hungry ... not worth the money ... get Daisy instead.
Garlett stuffed up .. get rid of him
Robinson stuffed up ... get rid of him
Waite was inconsistent and a liability ... get rid of him
Gibbs ... former B&F (strangely enough) who is an ordinary outside player ... get rid of him

I love the way this is going ... :hitcomputer: :banghead: :thanks:

Well put BBW!!

I agree.
Whilst his NAB form does not reflect the expectation he has created, its only a practise session.

2 years ago, he was inside and undeatable, and then when on the outsde he showed his polish.

If Gibbs fires from round 1, he will be noticed for Brownlow votes...because he is good.

Now, lets hope he pulls his finger out of his arse come round 1 and keep it up.
He's capable. I'm expecting it. He has set the expectation.

I still haven't seen evidence that he had any tactics.........

Unless playing the flanks and flooding in defence is a tactic???

I wouldn't call defending one of our more loyal players having a sook.
Gibbs has been copping it for years, i myself have been critical of him at times.
The season hasn't even begun, yet you guys are lining up to pot him based on a flower NAB game!!!

Its a new season, new coaching panel, plenty of new additions to the list.
I'm prepared to see how things pan out over the entire season.
But hey, every forum needs negativity, i admire your comittment.

You may have misinterpreted my post Mark.
I was saying mosquito fleet has been on a sook binge since the AGM.
I'm very optimistic about the season and Gibbs.

Marc Murphy a step closer to proving his fitness for Carlton’s season-opener against Richmond

Quote:
CARLTON captain Marc Murphy appears certain to lead the Blues in Thursday’s season-opener against Richmond after getting through Friday’s match simulation session.

...

With the club satisfied he has reached the level of conditioning required, Murphy only has to get through routine training next week to be passed fit to take on the Tigers.

There will be a game for Richmond this year which will be defining, they will lose, and will cause them to realise and admit they're not that good, maybe not good enough for eight, let alone have their first finals win.

Wouldn't it be great if that was Round 1!

Richmond should win all things being equal.

But we do have enough midfield depth and good enough defence to keep us in the game. Will depend if we can find a forward structure capable of scoring goals.
