Why not?

What's with the rolling eyes? simply stating the club's offer and my point of view.

Maybe you know more about my situation than i do?

What's your situation?

Is it really an offer? Depends how much Des values the '13'. They offered me '4'...(which I don't particularly care or understand where they got that number from given it was an AFL membership going back a fair way prior to that) but it's a number...it's not something I can use...what possible value do I get from accepting it?

Some are saying this total isn't accurate, but if there's such a backlog that the real figure has been 2000 or so ahead of this tally, why aren't they getting in casual staff to push through applications and placing more people on the phones to meet demand?

Surely it's fluff.

Phrasing.

People have been saying that's not the 'real' total for weeks now.

Are the phone/data entry staff tied up on long-term contracts? Not a chance, so if they're were obviously incompetent they'd have been sacked or re-tasked.

Are there enough to meet current demand? If there's a significant (1500+ and climbing) backlog, no.

Well if you're buying into the scuttlebutt, it was over 45k some 9 days ago.

I admit that sometimes it may not be too difficult to confuse me. But I cannot understand why every time I look at the live membership tracker the first number that comes up is significantly lower to the number when I last logged on and watched it grow for a while.

Half an hour ago it was 44,270. Logged off and then back on a few minutes ago and it started at 44,166. And again a minute ago and it was 44,143. WTF? Are members resigning faster than they are re-signing?

EDIT: next time it was 44,111???

It's designed to look like there's activity, when really it's playing an animation as it slowly and randomly builds up to the actual total. Usually takes 5 minutes, but it can take about 18 if the random numbers are unlucky.

The software doesn't have that ability without patching it.

Same.

I'd been meaning to renew my membership, and I did, so I guess you could say it worked.
