He'll be a very good coach Bolts, but it's going to take 3 to 4 years at least , for us to get respect and achievements we all crave for.

None of Waite Robinson Garlett Yarran and Henderson are that good. Eddie is a loss but please remember he is a small forward. It is a bit like saying a great 3rd slips fieldsman is key in a game of cricket.

Garlett is a star, Yarran can be again.

Trying to pick a side for round 1.

Byrne Jammo Touhy
Simmo Weitering Docherty
Boekhorst Cripps E.Curnow
C.Curnow Casboult Kerridge
Walker Rowe Buckley

Kreuzer Murphy Gibbs

Thomas Wright Graham Everitt

Rowe's a worry but want another big bloke to take the heat of Casboult. He was about the best I could find at present. Plus they can both ruck so no need to pick a 2nd ruckman, who isn't that good.

Not sure how some people are trying to fit Lamb into their team while trying to push Everitt out at the same time. On face value, they're both playing for Northern.

Everitt has the runs on the board with his 31 goals last year. Although his form was crap these were just practice matches. Real stuff will probably prick his interest a bit more plus he is a proven goalkicker, leading our goalkicking last year (Casboult did have a better average per game but on played in 16 games). We need those.

I agree with you, just making an observation in regards to how people feel about Everitt while embracing Lamb.

5% chance of winning.

1) Richmond have tall forwards
2) We don't

Ummm ... is Byrne the nominated rookie ... otherwise he will not be selected.

With Rance being a premium defender Casboult won't get a touch unfortunately. Those resting rucks can't mark- Gorringe or Phillips.

We'll need our mid forwards to work out but walks was rusty and Everitt isn't in touch.

No small forwards to speak of.

So I'd say a good effort already and a score of 5.12.

Don't stress, Bolts said the NAB strategy was all about having the team ready for round 1 - these guys will be fine.

The point is that the players mentioned bolstered many other teams, not how you perceive them Michael Jezz.

North Melb finished 8th on the ladder to make the finals in 2015.
They won their way through to the preliminary finals.
Who was their player of the finals series, and leading goal kicker?
In his first year at the club, Waite by a long stretch. A proven big game player. Kicked plenty of goals.

Garlett kicked 40 goals in 2015 and plenty of assists, and shows no let up in the preseason series.

On song, Yarran can tear through a defense on his own. He did it before he became demoralised under the MM regime, and he'll do it again.

Don't under value Eddie Betts, coz you'll be the only one in the footy world to do so. You're on your own on this one.

Hendo has kicked a few bags for a bottom 4 team, with minimal supply.

MM set this club back minimum 5 years, he was a complete disaster. That much is clear now

Looks like Whiley and Gorringe will have to exit stage left. Who will the third be if Murphy is fit? Lamb looks the most at risk.

Once again you demonstrate your total lack of football nous.
Goal assists, forward pressure, score involvements, leading goal kicker. All extremely valuable assets which we can't replace.
Stop embarrassing yourself.

My on-going concern is that this list delivered a wooden spoon last season.

We have turned players over, yet when we select our best 22 - few changes are there...

there will be a few new ones ww and a few refreshed ones (both through injury reduction and attitude adjustment) but the main one to look out for is

micky out..........Bolton in
we can't expect a top four finish but we can expect a better game plan, understanding, enthusiasm and application from our whole list

I see plenty of changes. Look at new recruits in Phillips, Kerridge, Wright, Weitering, plus Gibbs, Thomas, Kreuzer, Walker all fit, and improvement in Boekhurst, Cripps and Graham.

We have a number of others coming back from injury we recruited also that will come into the team once fit and in form.

My team won't be the one selected (because Sam Rowe and Andrew Walker will get a gig), but essentially it's a 7,6,5,4 model.

7 'defenders' = Jamison, Weitering, Buckley, Docherty, Simpson, White, Gibbs.

6 'mids' = Kreuzer, Cripps, Murphy, Graham, Boekhorst, Curnow.

5 'forwards' = Casboult, Wright, Everitt, Kerridge, Lamb.

4 'bench' = C.Curnow, Tuohy, Thomas, Phillips.

What will help is that we might actually try a bit harder. A couple of changes are significant, eg Kerridge.

A few of the GWS players are only just coming back, plus you can't expect all the young draftees to play yet. So you'll see changes to the first 22 over time. Won't happen overnight.
