I must say I was very excited by the form of our young players 22 and under. Cripps, kerridge, boekhurst, Graham, weitering. Looking forward to seeing what plowman and Sumner have to offer.
Excitement is tempered that we still have a ways to go. Our forward line is a big concern. If we can find ways to score well surprise a few teams.
Plowman and Sumner can change our fortunes this year if we can ep a healthy squad on the field ie minimum injuries and suspensions.
Whilst we do have a very good core of midfielders we lack depth in that area, as well as the small forward. If Sumner lives up to the expectations when he was drafted and overcome recent foot problem and get really fit he may surprise.
Plowman hasn't blitzed in the GWS team, but he has shown signs as a kid that he will make a good AFL footballer. If Plowman can get really fit and find form, and take the next step up he will be a great swingman. Faster than Hendo, but hasn't got the runs on the board as Hendo did (despite some criticism from some supporters).
Other than those 2, and the inclusion of Murphy, I'm hoping either Bryne or Sheehan or both step up this year to give us more midfield depth.
Where are the goals going to come from? I think uncontested possessions should be the bulk of our focus and every now and then Casboult catches a few too.
Team showed a lot of improvement on 2015 in NAB 1 and 3 against last years finalists and premier.
