Out: Matthew Wright, Jesse Glass-McCasker, Matt Korcheck

Given the number of forwards and the need to chuck a few spare minutes to Gorringe and Casboult, as well as the unlikelihood of either Korcheck or JGM getting elevated this season, I guess this makes a lot of sense, but I reckon Gorringe is an atrocious ruckman. Guess we have to confirm such things within our own structures.

It's going to be about as experimental a midfield as you would be likely to see from us, which is good to try, though hopefully not ugly.

Why we are giving Tutt and Jones the most glit-edged chances given the circumstances, I don't understand.

How true

Aside from it being February and half our team out and using less rotations, even allowing for that it's awful.

Only positive is it looks like Essendon** won't get pick 1

All the same applies the Essendon* half their team is out and the players that are playing for them alot of them havent had full preseasons because they were not playing AFL level.

It doesnt say alot for our foundation if we keep making excuses.

It has been disgraceful effort to be fair not blaming Bolts but i think he maybe got today's team selection wrong.

Curnow and Whiley as our prime movers in the midfield we were always going to struggle.

I dont think Gorringe has what it takes, we lack another key tall and have too many guys that make simple mistakes.

Graham is a good player. Hope to see a lot more from Smith, BB, Bucks, Levi, Everritt, Tuohy they need to stand up Bolts trusted them to keep this competitive.

I know it is a practice match but given most of our team young and presumably keen to impress it is not a good showing so far. 6 goals from turnovers though so that should get better in March...

Good on Gallucci and Bolton for sticking by him, because you'd totally understand if both parties dropped their head after that half.

Having said that, what the @#$%&! is Liam Jones still doing on the field?!

Good to see Buckley in midfield.

Jason Tutt does about 5 things wrong, then does one thing right which leads to a chance to correct for helping concede a goal; but that effort, can't fault it.
